Spare Tire / Space Saver Question

Gents,
I was able to get my hands on OEM space saver kit, but it is missing the wheel studs. Question I have is, why are those studs included in the kit different from the ones already on the wheels?
On a side note I do have the Merc alternative with that I was able to put together with the info I got on here, but couldn't resist an opportunity for an OEM one...

Longer bolts, bigger head (22mm)? Hence the 22mm socket? Not willing to pay scuderia price for replacement studs. I am running 15mm spacers that already have longer studs. Going to try a test fit! If all is good, will post my Merc opinion on ML for sale.

You’ll be able to get wheel bolts with the correct taper (conical) and thread (M14x1.5) in the length you want but the bolt head will likely be 17mm or 19mm. The 22mm ones Maserati use are rare and so expensive.

Thanks Zep! Any idea what the length would be? On another note, just realized that in the OEM kit they supply a 22mm socket to install their "rare" lugs, what what they expect you to use to remove the 17mm lugs that are on all the wheels?

The wheel brace that comes in the standard tool kit with the spare wheel set?

No idea what length I’m afraid. A rule of thumb if you want to work is out is that you need 1.5 times the bolt diameter to be engaged in the thread to give you full strength.

Whichever car I'm out in I always carry a power bar the correct 6 point socket and a torque wrench just in case of a wheel change along with my emergency tool kit for anything else.
For what it's worth in 4 years living in France one puncture on my Jaguar and 4 years living in New Zealand one puncture and that was on my Daimler bizarre thinking about it.

Got it! Still questioning though how they expect you to remove the affected tire without supplying you with a 17mm socket...

None of the standard bolts are 17mm, so they wouldn’t expect you to need to.

I am a bit embarrassed! You gents are all correct, the stock wheel bolts are 22mm, hence the 22mm socket in the kit. I forgot I have 15mm spacers that came with 17mm wheel bolts. Sorry about that confusion! All that being said and to complete my OEM kit, all I need to now is to figure out the length of the kit wheel bolts.

Is this for the 4200 ? If you need the boot floor with the hump in it then the car that is on another thread for 4k as needs new subframes has the humped boot floor but no wheel kit. Could be worth a message to the seller and do a boot floor swap plus cash. He just wants as much back for the car as he can get.

Thank you also! I already have the boot floor with hump. I was fortunate enough to acquire it a few years back when I decided to go the Merc alternative with custom adapter. Going to post my Merc alternative on ML (just locking to get what I have into it) unless someone on this side of the pond wants it and is is willing to pay the overseas shipping cost.
