Not sure on a time. The gates don't open until 9:00 so maybe look to leave Selby Fork at 9:15 so as not to appear too eager? That would make Wetherby Services an 8:45 leave if we take the scenic route via A64, Towton, and Sherburn-in-Elmet. No sense in just piling down the A1(M) :D

1) MrMickS + 2 - Wetherby
2) Arfa - Wetherby
3) Doohickey - Wetherby
4) DrewF & Susie - Selby Fork
5) ChrisN +1 - Selby Fork

Hello to all. Sorry I'm slow to find this thread...(a recent newbie). I just received a mail from the organisers asking groups to pre meet and arrive together, hence searching this thread out. Anyway, the Selby Fork idea works for me although I live locally to the event. Tim Ashton

Ok. Updated the list. These timings should see us get there at 9:30 or so. If anyone thinks we should be aiming for earlier we can adjust the times.

Wetherby Services - 8:30 for 8:45 leave to get to Selby Fork before 9:15

1) MrMickS + 2
2) Arfa
3) Doohickey

Selby Fork - 9:00 for 9:15 leave

1) DrewF & Susie
2) ChrisN +1
3) mike ?

Selby Fork Hotel was a lot easier to find before they built the new A1 section! It was a landmark both for the road users, and aviation (VRP for Leeds and Sherburn).

Yeah. Going to take a drive past shortly to see if I can still remember how to get there. Also checking out the back route to Lotherton Hall so that we can try and avoid the rest of the traffic in.

Ok. I drove to Selby Fork via Towton, Sherburn-in-Elmet, and past Squires on Saturday. It would be a more interesting drive to go that way from the Wetherby Services but does have a chunk of 20 mph and speed bumps in Sherburn-in-Elmet. I'm ok with those how about you Dave?

The back way to get to Lotherton Hall from the opposite direction as most of the traffic is either down what looked to be a dirt track or back through Sherburn and towards Towton. I reckon its best just to take the quickest route from Selby Fork to Lotherton. Its about 10 minutes so not too bad.

No problem with speed bumps though they tend to be slow progress!

The route sounds sensible although most of the traffic comes from the M1 link so coming that way might take a bit longer. We came at it from Aberford with the Supercar run last year and it was a bit better. Having said that the ticketing this year is more straight forward (no paying on the gate) so it might not be as bad getting in.

Could come in from Aberford. Would that be back up the A1(M) or back via Sherburn-in-Elmet?

Yeah, I saw that 'interesting' road. Wasn't sure about people wanting to take their nicely polished Bella's down it ;)

Going through Mickie seems to come out on the road from the link road and requiring us to cross it. If there's a queue chances are that we'd get split up. Unless the one at the front blocks the road ;) I'd go straight to the link road roundabout rather than taking that one.

I could try and recce Coldhill Lane on Thursday evening and see if its feasible.

I had a look on street view and it looks like a two lane road with white lines and everything.

Unfortunately my wife and are not going to be able to make it this year. I have just pulled a muscle in my back. Being vertical is o.k. as is horizontal but the transition between the two and sitting position has allowed me to create new words for the english language. So even if I could get in the Maserati and drive to Lotherton Hall. It would require a team from West Yorkshire Fire Service with cutting equipment to remove the roof, a heavy lift crane to lift me out and a paramedic with a syringe full of morphine.

However I hope the weather remains good and everyone has an enjoyable time.

I was hoping the ignition switch from eurospares would come today at the latest but as they're operating at their usual speed it hasn't so my car is off the road , I hope the weather holds out for you
