Best of luck to Matt & everyone else involved in this truly inspiring undertaking - we all will be thinking of you and the reasons you are doing it, take care of yourselves and be safe
Well I'm just back from a great evening as a curtain raiser for the ride met up with a number of suspects at Dem's and we toddled into town for a rib-busting supper at a taverna sampling the best of Enfield (it seems there is plenty of talent in Enfield) before adjourning to a suitable pub having waved Matt and Urby off for an early night...
Good luck for your early start today guys and Matt for the whole journey and for putting up with Benny for two weeks!
On a more serious note; if you guys can think of any any companies, family or friends that haven't already been approached for sponsorship, please consider doing so, so we can get this venture over the line for Matt. Irrespective of whether we manage it or not, you have our heartfelt thanks guys, you are absolute heroes. Respect.
My job is done. I promised Matt I would at least accompany him on the first leg and I was true to my word. I bid farewell to him and Benny and came back to London by train. I only wish I could have carried on with them. The ride will be fantastic and what a great cause.
Amazing how sore your bum becomes after a day of cycling and some really steep climbs over the South Downs
Benny is a phenomenal.
He wasted not a moment in volunteering to massage some soothing ointment into me. What a guy and I can put my head on the pillow knowing that Matt will be in safe caring hands
