The Falkens are not a bad tire, but I'm looking for more grip on the tight turns. We'll see how they behave with the suspension upgrades - I've abused them for about 200 miles at the track already, so they're likely ready to go after one or two more runs. A spare set of wheels/track tires would be a godsend, but the logistics don't work out - nowhere to store them. Michelin Pilot Sports seem to have quite the reputation on this forum, so they're next in the cue.Springtime cars and wemon great days, anyway the help I can give is I purchase another set of 18" from the car dismantlers (wreckers) I paid $1500. AU and set them up with a set of Nankang AR 1 just for track days. At my club track, my best time was 44 sec. straight out of the box the car dropped 3sec. These tyers on eBay were $1200. great grip for the money. Any R spec tire will give great gain. Also at a different track 250KPH Top Speed they picked up rubber which meant I had to re-torque after 10 lap runs.
Here's one of the two local tracks here in Seattle from last year, with the only mods on Coupe being Sport Cats and DBW. Max speed on the straightaway is about 140mph/225kph my last two times. Not likely to get much more than 145mph due to the track orientation, but that's plenty for now, as it dives right into a downhill turn that tests the brakes almost indecently.
