Why have beans at all? Tomato sauce and eggs urghhhhh!
Eb

Yep - and hash browns can feck right off as well.

For me, an ideal cooked breakfast is sausages, bacon, eggs (preferably fried but will accept poached or scrambled), mushrooms, black pudding and plenty of toast and butter.

I'm also a fan of haggis, white pudding for breakfast - perhaps waffles if I want a sweet fix.

BUT NEVER EVER beans or tomatoes - yuk!

Why do some cafes put the egg on the beans???:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Glad we agree on something!

Basically, I like to have two breakfasts on one plate:
  • Bacon and Egg (on Toast)
  • Sausages, Beans, Mushrooms, Tomatoes, Black Pudding and Fried Bread
The trick is to use the sausages to keep the beans away from the eggs.

I can live without the chips and hash browns, although a pub near me used to do fabulous rösti.

I'm also a HUGE fan of this:

[edited to say: very sadly out of stock in my local Sainsburys and online at the moment]

I very nearly ignored this thread as I misinterpreted the title and thought it was going to be yet another share tips / gold buying / spread betting thread...

However, it’s actually about a small business owner putting in real graft to try and kickstart the economy, feed the local community and save his business...

I wish you all the luck in the world and hope business picks up for you.
Thank you,yes indeed we are a small family run business and it’s going to be very difficult to get back to the level we was at before...

Hospitality trade has been hit hard and even though they are opening up take up from customers is not going to be great I fear.

You just have to hang in there it will be alright on the night as someone once said

This is begging for a Southern meet up, if we want to support our own then name the date and we'll come down. Andover is pretty central for those south of Oxford...

We have northern meet up options as well. Although epistaxis will no doubt afflict southern members.

Epis taxis would be a great name for a taxis service out of london to the North

Per Alan Partridge:

Bacon: 10 on 10, button mushrooms: bingo, black pudding: snap. Minor criticism: more distance between the eggs and the beans. I may want to mix them but I want that to be my decision. Use a sausage as a breakwater. But I’m nit-picking, on the whole a very good effort, seven on ten, let’s make love.
