The recalls sound interesting. I've not had any (2015 Ghibli S).

Tyres is pretty much as expected. If you get much more than 10k out of the Pirellis you're not driving it right.

Sorry to hear that and not a great first post sadly, I'm sure you would have preferred to be saying what a great decision it was to buy one, but welcome along anyway. I hope that your luck changes for the better and the positive vibes of this forum rub off on your car

USA recalls are notorious though. Things like the carpet mats are nonsense recalls. My Ghibli had a couple of faults in the year too but there are stories from every brand and every price point so i think its just the way of things.

Doesn't sound too bad to me, most newly designed cars have teething problems, wires that rub where they thought they wouldn't , burned headlight , are they xenon or LED

what were the recalls for , tires suggest Boston MA not Boston Lincs

Look on the bright side, it's under warranty so for free :)
Your driving style might be a bit aggressive to go trough a set of tyres in 10k

I have heard the reason why new models are delayed is due to fixing issues with the Ghibli and QP.

Welcome. It does sound like you have been unlucky.

Recalls are to be expected I'd have thought, and on a Maserati are perhaps for things that aren't as serious as customers expect a higher level of service, and therefore more regular, than other makes?

10k on tyres... My Fiat Panda daily has almost gone through a front set in 9k so far, and it has a LOT less weight and power! ;)

Go and enjoy it :)

My 09 GTS has Pirelli Pzero tyres front and rear from when I bought it. Out of curiosity come tyre replacement time, what best tyre experience have been had? Obviously best grip = low mileage and vice versa. But just wondered.

No reply from the OP, I wonder if he's a BMW salesman staring out on an empty customer car park

There are many many tyre threads however the general consensus is that the Pirellis are shite. Unless it's a warm dry day. Otherwise the wear rate is high and the colder weather grip is dangerous. I'm about to change mine for Michelin Pilot Sport, which are great, however if you pick from Michelin, Goodyear, Continental and Bridgestone, you will find all to be far better. Don't buy the Pirellis again, as soon as you get your car on one of the others, you will feel the difference.

Out of interest, how did you decide upon on the Michelins? I have them on my Abarth and also think they are fantastic but I had Continentals on my GTS which were excellent so can't decide which to for when the P Zeros give up the ghost
