Laurence, congratulations on the purchase. I’m unsure where you’re located but if you want help sorting the buttons and the headlights, leather etc my detailer is a genius and would do a lot of the jobs for you as a one stop shop.
Thanks Dicky. We're south of Guildford, so having just checked your man's website it's too far. I have found a local headlight chap I think for now, thank you though

I'll bet he can't do it any better than I did! You should have taken an original photo to show him

Hi all,
As an update, car is still great fun, used on some good 2 hour plus round trips, so great to have a second car, but unfortunately still no sign of a job on the horizon so I do need to sell her. I have had the lights done, and it has about 5 months mot left. Never let me down. Occasional intermittent Skyhook light on the dash (it just means suspension is in sport mode even when out of Sport mode if that makes sense! Otherwise still doing brilliantly. Cat N of course. Clutch done 6k Miles ago, currently on 79,300.
Not trying to make a profit, but my wife would be far less on my case if I can make a few hundred to encourage future man maths endeavours . Motor point would off a shade over £5k but criminal to give away to those guys!
Kids will be upset, but just can't justify 2 cars and one being a V8!!
Have been to a car festival with kids seats and it's gone down very well!
Any questions send me a message and I'll pass on my number.
I did reach out to Soprano as he missed out last time but he's not been on for a month so wanted to open it up.
Many thanks,
Laurence

Hi Laurence,
Recently I had a bit of a cash flow crisis & after 2 years of ownership my Granturismo MC sadly had to go to fund it. The previous owner always wanted it back & almost had my arm off so I couldn't say no & it enabled me to pay the bills.
But I've been missing Maserati ownership so much ever since, and I did feel the GT was just a smidge too big so was thinking of a 4200 coupe. That it's been through SI and is well known on here is all good. I am in Norwich so a bit of a trek to you, but if the £5k you paid is good enough as per @conaero suggested I'd be in. I'm available to come over (trains permitting) from this Wednesday the 8th to Monday the 13th if you'd like to go with that. Hope you can let me know, either way.
All the best,
Mike

Still tugs at the heartstrings this car! I still have the OEM wheels (with my current winter tyres on), as has correctly been identified it is sat on 3200AC rims, it had my winters on it when it got lifted!

Super chat with Laurence today, what a lovely bloke; price we're both happy with (I do feel for his situation of course) & a small deposit now paid. So assuming Greater Anglia, TfL & South Western Rail do what they say they will & I get to Surrey ok the Coupe will be coming back to Norwich in a couple of days. Back in the club (hopefully), yesss!!

Fantastic, I picked it up from near Thetford so a certain irony it is heading back to Norfolk. You will find all sorts of stuff in the wadge of papers.

Deal was done today so the Coupe is home with me.

Other than the known suspension lamp lit on the dash all was fine until I filled up en-route home. Due to a white van I had to reverse to get away from the pump; when I restarted the engine I'm pretty sure dash was otherwise clear again as, like the GT, I gave it time to clear the lights & do its clutch thing. However as I selected reverse the CEL came on and is now a permanent feature. No change to engine performance, limp mode etc. So, has anyone experienced this before? Any suggestions that are common failures?

Could be a load of things. Get yourself a cheap little scanner.
But before you do that, go check the fuel cap is on properly.....

If you need I'm in Cromer next week. Scanner will be with me

Yes I do need one, can you recommend a decent one?
Re Cromer - are you there Monday? Sod's Law says I'm offshore for 2 weeks from Tuesday...
I did think about the fuel cap, I have heard of that causing CELs to illuminate though to date I've never experienced it.

I use an AP-200.

CEL will trigger if the fuel cap is loose as it leaks vapour. The CEL is meant to trip under any circumstances that increase emissions........
Given it came on after re-fuelling and the PO reported no issues, it's got to be a good starting point.

Sadly not there until Thursday :( You can get an AP-200 by tomorrow.....

A shame I've missed you again. Thanks for the info.
Just popped out & checked the cap, it was on to the first click. Where it should be? Maybe a dodgy seal? Time & a scanner will tell I suppose.

That might be it. If so it will clear automatically. Fingers crossed
