Such a lovely day, finally got round to swapping the wheels and giving the car a good clean. The Corsa tyre's feel a lot different and a lot more fun now the temperature is warmer....

Also nice to go back to the silver rims from the black I was using over winter.

That is a stunning view - are they OE wheels, never seen that design before.
Good luck with the front plate, got £100 fine for my mini plate on the QP

Rob, they are standard Stradale wheels carried over from the two seater Stradale but most have been dark and you don't see many in silver so that maybe why they look different....

Lovely pictures by the way.

You are the second person I have heard today with £100 fine for plate issues, (this was a young lad in a Subaru with a plate in the window though) but not a small plate. Have they started to clamp down? Have they nothing better to do? Jobsworths it seems.

dunno 0 mine might be parking related, The parking warden at rail station tickets my car at random leaving dozens of threatening letters. Last week found a proper fine from a PCSO. Thought about contesting it, as it is private land blah, blah. Just want an easy life so paid up.

I did wonder how a police offer got to the far end of the station car park to see my front plate, tucked behind a huge Porker. :)

Rob you are special! You don't know if the fine was a PCN or a Fixed penalty notice? :D

Lovely car, congratulations. I can just imagine how great that first drive out felt: windows down -- "race" mode. Those wheels look to be a titanium or, darker grey? Not seen that shade stradale wheel before, but a very nice match for your car.

Nice little spot where I take lots of pictures under a mile from my house, the other direction is flat almost all the way to the coast 60 miles away.

Had the car since July and so far although I have had some interest from passing Police cars I have not been stopped, I had a miniature plate on my old GT S and got pulled a couple times and in the end was told to change it. The policeman said you better off having no plate rather than an illegal plate....

Thanks and I think the colour of the wheels brings out much more detail than the black version.

Looking good David!

Thanks Stuart, a lot cleaner than when we hooked up.....

Thanks the wheel colour according to the order sheet is Titanio Lucido (Titanium Polished).

The car is sitting a bit weird - really low at the front and really high at the back. Or is it just me forgetting the stance of the GT? I sold mine 2 months ago. :sad1:

It was parked on a very uneven bit of ground, the drivers side rear wheel was on a little mound..........

Beautiful car. Definitely gave me the 'fizz' :)
As an ex copper, I can tell you that its unlikely you'll be spoken to, solely about the number plate.
Constables would tend to assume that the driver of this type of car plays golf at the same private
club as and is on first name terms with their Chief Constable ;)
That said. Anything that might hinder you being identified in relation to a crime, by traffic cameras
for example, is frowned upon and at least a notional effort is made to manage the number of
non standard plates in circulation.
Here in Northern Ireland, the PSNI (RUC) is usually very quick to speak to a driver with illegal plates.
Given the ongoing terrorism campaign here, its essential that police are able to match a car with a driver/owner
instantly. Think car bombs in stolen cars.
I can tell you, although I experienced many things during my service here, potential car bombs were one thing that
really used to put me on edge. A car parked in an unusual place, or parked oddly. An out of place number plate.
Or anything done to obscure a number plate, would make me very nervous, until I at least saw the driver return, or
was able to ID the driver / owner over the radio.
That may also be why police are being more assertive regarding illegal plates in G.B. Because the terrorist
threat level is unfortunately permanently very high. Okay no terrorist in his right mind will use a Maserati.
But, its the general principle.
So, whilst you may not realise why you're being spoken to about a non-standard plate, the reason could be
very valid. Plus, the constable who speaks to you, may have been instructed to and left to his own devices,
he may not have bothered.
Apologies if I'm stating the obvious :)
