When I got my GTS I said that I would never use the paddles - I was utterly wrong!

Now on The Ghibli Diesel I find them an utter waste of space (apart from they look cool, and actually do get really cool from the air conditioning)

Maybe on the petrol sport I would have them.

I guess that is why it is an option.

Been seeing more and more Ghiblis on the road and have to say that they do demand and command attention. Saw a black one on the opposite side of the road the other day with its slanted DRLs on and it did look cool and menacing.

I still think the rear is not quite right but am beginning to learn to forgive this for the overall look achieved.

Indeed Shak, selling like hot cakes apparently, which is great news as it means the new found wealth will be invested into new models.

When you look at it the futures bright for Maserati.

As you say, it has its short fallings, but at 3 years old and £20k is have a diesel as a daily driver, am I alone in that?

Agree about the rear but the I am beginning to appreciate the profile and the front. Glad that it exists but I still prefer a coupe.

No one would disagree with the last point if it was possible but residuals are forecast to be strong - like the GranTurismo's - so retail at three years old could be as much as £35k based on typical £55-60k new prices.

I hope they're right.

Richard, since I had the paddles retro-fitted to mine, I've used them a lot. The gear change points are very different to the Gransport obviously, but I'm finding it fun to go through the gears rapidly in a flood of low end torque too. Does nothing for the fuel consumption though.

Still only seen one other on the road.........which I like

Saw one parked in Edinburgh in the mid blue metallic and really like the profile - tht view is certainly Maserati. In a darker colour the nose would look better IMHO as it would soften the small lights and strange shaped grill. Back is still generic Japanese but I would not spend too much time looking at that. Must arrange a drive sometime.

PS Can you tell which engine is in the car by badges etc?

Saw one parked on marylebone high street in London yesterday. It was definitely more distinctive and had more presence than the generic euro boxes (Merc, BMW) parked nearby. Looked good in that context.
