Followed a V10 R8 for a while on a run on Sunday and was really surprised how quiet it was as standard. If you're going to get one then make sure it has a sports exhaust on or budget to fit one - sounded like a Prius in comparison to mine. Bl00dy quick though.

After spending the weekend in central London. I couldn't wait to get home. I can't believe what it is like now. So different from the early to mid 90s.

I was amazed at some of the car showrooms squeezed together in Knightsbridge - I couldn't work out how you could get some of the cars off the showroom and into the road. And the street parking! I saw at least 3 150k + cars with Wing mirrors dinged and taxis literally scraping past them.

It's changed a lot but so has the world in that time. I used to drive to work from Battersea to the City and a nice underground parking space and it was an easy run back in the time you are talking about.

There's change and there's change. We can dress it up all we want but I'd struggle to think of many positive benefits of the changes I see. There are numerous parts of London that I would simply no longer wish to visit.

Part of it's age, in my twenties and thirties I was very happy living in London but I prefer the space and clean air that I now have....suits my driving and cycling so keeps me happy.

On the contrary, from my perspective, age has nothing to do with it. There are still plenty of "green" spaces around London. For example, Ally Paly was recently mentioned here and it remains a very pleasant environment. Too many other areas though, how best to put this, have lost their identity & stopped being British many years ago.

I tend to agree. I'm late 40s now and love London as much as ever. Although I love having the option as well ;)

I stick to my age comment regarding London - I am sure it is different for those who are natives of the M25 ghetto - and the other inference is best left alone.

...but you don't live in London and that's what we are talking about. I love going to London but would not want to live there anymore. Nice parts of the Home Counties are another matter and have a lot of appeal.

O I see. Hmmm. If I had *loads* of money, I might live in London. But probably not

Why? Unpalatable or an inconvenient truth. Sounds like you've not spent much time in London recently :(

I feel the same tbh, ive been looking at the AMG GT S, delivery is Feb next year.

Love my Levante, but do change my cars fairly regular, Cant see my deposit on the Alfieri being used anytime soon. The test chaperone for the V6 I took out said he had seen a presentation of it and it is defo coming ....apparently

Was that the young lad Matt who was the brand ambassador? I had him in with me for the V6. Very impressed with the V6 power to be fair.
