Not when they currently get more money for vehicles that are sat around doing nothing. They may find that this ability to tax on a monthly basis via the Internet works against them for that. Fuel tax is the way to go, but that's only short term as more people will move to electric over the next 10 years.

Then there will be a tax on that.....

I bet the £30 one uses the road much, much more often than the £535 too..

Nope, the Fiat sits about waiting for the few days a year that my sons insure it for them to drive. (Meanwhile, for some reason, I am expected to pay for its tax, MOT and insurance.) The QP is a daily driver and I have done 15,000 miles in just under a year of ownership.
