Once upon a time, I was with my grandfather and we were watching a girl walk by. I think I may have been about 12. Without turning his head away from her, he said to me, "no matter how good she looks to you right now, some man is sick of her (****)."

I am pretty certain that I have finally found one I can keep from here on out. The 4200 Coupe is just an amazing car...

...but to the other point of the thread:

$400 1977 Dodge retired cop car (first car, bought at auction by the grandfather mentioned above)
$100 1968 Chevy pickup, three on the tree, green couch strapped in where the bed should have been
$400 1980 Chrysler station wagon bought by 4 of us from a girl in Pascagoula to use when we weren't on duty while in the shipyards
$400 1979 Honda Accord bought in high school from a friend whose family pitied me

all $400 that's surely some sort of fixation/obsession with $400 dollar cars?

Did it have a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. Was it a model made before catalytic converters, so it would run good on regular gas? ;)

C
In fact, yes...however, it was spraypainted yellow by the department that was selling it, which made for some brown fenders as the black underlying paint demonstrated the lack of a primer coat...

Bought at different times, and in different conditions.

The Dodge was acquired in 1985; the Honda in 1988; and the station wagon in 1992...

Was able to prime and paint the Honda in my girlfriend's driveway, replace clutch and brakes, and sell it on for $900 after about a year to a girl I worked in a warehouse with.
