Isn't that Nigeria? I wonder if they know how to fix them out there or whether they will be making a return as spare parts!!
Dont make the mistake of under estimating African ingenuity you will be surprised ....they are not primitive like many would have you believe, most are hard working extremely loyal and are bred with the ability to live and survive on their wits , Just think about the vast number of ( so called very intelligent western people ) that have been primitively scammed out of small fortunes through a few email exchanges :saifi: ( there's one born every minute ) those so called Nigerians and Ghanaians have roadside workshops that can diagnose/alter the latest of ecu's ..............Africa will be the last bastion of what we call the blessed age , there's is still to evolve whereas ours through nefarious world governments is on the decline.

I have no doubt and agree with general western world decline - all empires do! I hadn't realised that the complex electronics of the modern RR were so readily maintainable out there. From what I can see and hear (brother in law has been there past 16 years) is that until or if ever they get past the 'my turn to eat at the table' corruption the continent cannot move forward. The fact that China has bought significant amounts of the mineral assets and built airports and ports they can ill afford is not helping either. I hope I am wrong but I don't see much change in our life time.

Your correct 100% about the corruption and nepotism in the African institutions , but in my experience its no more than what goes on over here ( including the UK ) we have become cleverer at hiding/disguising it , we have our masonic lodges the Etons and Harrows as examples in government (PPE anyone ) , even all the local councils are at it when they dish out contracts for local amenities , the Aficans on the other hand have no such finesse and why should they , its them who are calling us the hypocrites ( and rightly so IMHO ) are we ever going to change

Too depressing to think about so solution is to jump in the car, enjoy the country roads, find a nice pub and have a pint! Add in a regular trip to southern europe for some warmth and variety and don't watch the news.

BTW I have been lucky to travel and do business all over the world and I usually find the people wonderful regardless. The issue is those that push themselves into government! I can't remember the source of the quotation but never a truer word; 'Anyone who says they want to go into politics should immediately be disqualified'

Just for your info lol , that truck is mine and I was driving at the time , Did 2 years mining about 60km into the bush/jungle near Kisangani DRC where the renowned benobo chimps are , real fascinating to see their colonies and how they behave ( so close and similar in a lot of respects to humans ) and yes done plenty of exploration in and around the Rwenzori Mountains bordering Uganda/Congo/and Rwanda , I consider myself blessed to have witnessed close up Silverbacks and their wives and families in the weeks i was there testing streambeds etc.
They keep coming up on the Facebook Reels videos and looks amazing, that type of gorilla has to be in the wild and can't survive in zoos apparently. Fascinating animals.

Comparitively travel is cheap now so why would anyone want to take such beautiful primates away from there habitats , god knows they are threatened enough by local poachers, but in recent years it is getting a little better especially in Uganda and Rwanda , they see and recognise it as a good source of income at a local level , Congo at the moment is a little different , and the number of warlords has more than doubled in that area recently all interested in aiding nefarious Chinese groups to extract minerals due to high concentration on Tantalum Coltan Gold Niobium in that area.

Unfortunately some of these endangered animals are probably safer in a zoo than the wild. Ideal world they should definitely be in their natural habitat. As you say things are getting better.

25 years old, 317HP on the rolling road, LSD, 950 Kg, RWD.
Fibre glass body, light weight steel chassis that will corrode to nothing in less than 3 years
no traction control, no ABS, no torque vectoring, no power steering, no roll protection, almost no possibility of traction or grip at full throttle at any speed.
Want to race?
Want to feel like you might die any minute?
Modified TVR Chimeara!!

I can certainly believe the hp with significant modification. TVR were very optimistic with their BHP claims (just like the Italians in the 70s/80s) but how did you lose nearly 200kg from the standard car? I am loving driving mine without all the electronic stuff that gets in the way even with a standard V8 4litre.

I actually love driving mine in the wet. A big flat torque curve and modest grip make it quite controllable. Braking does require caution though!
