Just heard from Alex (very groggy) and they spent five hours on rebuilding his elbow! The fracture/dislocation combo he had is called a terrible triad and is very difficult to treat. They also took a look and manipulated the thumb/wrist break on the right hand and managed it non-surgically so it will now be plastered instead. We will.go and see him later.

I have had a success with the Volvo today and replaced the reluctor rings (ABS) on the front drive shafts both sides for a total of £22 instead of the nearly £500 each for new drive shafts Volvo say you need.

Clear of codes and warnings after a test drive so I'm chuffed with that.

That's kind of good news for Alex. I guess there'll be a fair bit more to come yet, but hopefully he'll make a quick recovery without too many more complications.

Good to hear Alex is progressing Newton.
Chris what a weekend for you and your Mum.
Makes Harvest Festival down here seem dull.
Don't miss rusty car parts from British Winter weather that's for sure.

Thanks, Phil. Just briefed my father on the situation. But after a few beers some wine and a couple of scotches it all seem far less difficult :)

Morning all,

Tired this morning. Losing the hour didn't seem to be an issue yesterday, today though its killing me. Heading off to beat the traffic shortly, hopefully the 'smart' motorway will have more sensible speed limits this morning.

Had a great weekend making noise. Had a chap start taking pictures of the car when I parked up in Helmsley yesterday. I love the attention :D

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all
Dealing with a bit of jet lag conked out at 9.30pm woke up at 3am but kept my head down till 6am. At least I'm not feeling woozy today. 2 weeks on holiday and back to work gladly I'm working from home nice gentle start to the week.

Hope everyone has a good day and productive week ahead

Morning all after yesterdays glorious sunshine wake up to a misty Monday - is that summer over already?

Off to put summer tyres back on the GT today which will guarantee a snow storm by the end of the week

Morning all, on the train to Bournemouth to pick the 3200 up. I have a heavy heart and a heavy wallet, only one of which will be considerably lighter by this evening...

Morning all. On a train to London for a couple of big meetings to replenish the coffers after the weekends expenditure.

Counting the days down already!

Morning, all. Well, it is here, anyway. Slept like a log last night and woke up to a sunny day. Now about 30 degrees. This is the first time I've been to Costa Rica and so far I like it a lot. Has a nice easy feel about it. A day of meetings lies ahead, largely with some Chinese people. I'm confident that my happy predisposition to this country will be undimmed by the time I get to bed.

Have a good day, everyone.

Morning,

Still struggling with the switch to BST. Its really thrown my body clock out. Fewer people on the roads yesterday so getting to the office was easier. I've no idea why though, its not like the schools are on holiday yet. Perhaps it will revert to normal today?

Have a good one all
