Morning all, quite a late one collecting from the prom in the shiney Mas; if I ever needed a reminder that I don't use it enough it was yesterday. These are such a missile of a car to drive and a week as a passenger with Athol reminded me I probably drive way too conservatively at times. Note to self to use it far more.

Today I will mostly be rebuilding a smashed rear light on the XC90 and experimenting with a TIG welder :)

Have fun all...

Morning all. Today I will (hopefully) completing my office move and getting everything set up ready for Monday morning.
Before that however we're off pram and nursery shopping.

I feel it's going to be rather expensive.

Well the light is rebuilt! Just about to uprate an MCB on the board so the MIG stops popping the rated one! Only lifting it to 20A from 16A but hopefully enough without getting too scetchy. TIG unit dismantled and rebuilt for peace of mind. Time to go play!

Well, that's me done and unpacked in my new office. Monday morning it starts for real!

Feel like I've left school all over again.

Afternoon, all. Well, that was a busy day. Almost Newton levels of being busy, at a guess. The house is now mostly free of bird shite (we live amongst incontinent rooks and pigeons, and several families of sh!ty starlings have only recently moved out), I've taken loads of old crarp to the dump and done a variety of other dull but worryingly rewarding domestic tasks. Stopped short of hosing Le Mans off the car but did Hoover it out and treated the leather with some Autoglym leather conditioner. Looks and smells much fresher. The outside can wait until tomorrow.

Beer time.

TIG welding is technical but very satisfying! I'll need a lot more practice before I let myself loose on anything important like an X-pipe :D but the principle is there, similar in many ways to gas welding but you feel more like a drummer with a pedal, filller rod and lance all needing fine control, the hardest part is trying to feed the filler rod through a gloved hand whilst dabbing it in the puddle!

Good Morning everyone, another easy Sunday Morning at LGW for me, catch up on what I missed at Le mans and get double bubble for the pleasure, which will help the bank balance...I will also do some research on pattern/generic Maserati Parts i.e. parts that Maserati say contain Unobtainium and costs £400 but are actually common bits that also exist in a Lancia Thema or such like and cost £50.

Morning,

Well that was fun. I've just spent the last hour recovering a containerised database cluster. Perfect start to a Sunday morning. Well, slight exaggeration there. Test drove an Alfa Spider 916 yesterday. Very tidy example with just a few cosmetic issues. Might buy it today.

Have a great one all

Greetings from
................. Baku, Azerbaijan where today we have the F1 ( I live / work here just now) good to see so many folk turning up here - it will be a good day. Especially if Hamilton keeps up the pace. and the tarmac stays on the cobble stones! believe it or not part of the track going through the 'old city' is actually cobble stones underneath and after last year they removed the offending tarmac to reveal the historic cobbles and then re-laid the tarmac this year!! Fair play the Azeri's have put a lot of effort into this event!
All the Azeri's with fast cars (and there are a surprising number of them) have developed F1 fever and are driving even faster than normal. not often you see a Maserati Stradale MCS v Lamborghini Aventador v Bentley Conti S at a set of lights in the middle of a city all accelerating flat out (and a Lada Niva)!!
