The good morning thread

Hmm… sounds familiar Andy, we are still on a generator with a broken supply. Half way through my meeting in London last evening, my phone (on silent) lit up with calls from Jeanette as the power company had called to say they would be attending to complete investigations on the cable at 19.00 and would be digging up my driveway! Eventually I gave up on the meeting and drove a mercy dash home, I arrived 2-minutes ahead of the team leader to fined three band, a 5t excavator and a bunch of Eastern Europeans standing looking at the driveway not wanting to scratch it. They absolutely don’t want to cut through the resin bound (rightly so) and I agreed that the granite sets could be taken up around it ok but they were not convinced. The problem being that they have to dig a metre away from the live mains under the pavement and then follow the dead cable to the fault once they establish the fault point. So I ended up taking a metre square of the sets up myself for them! As we were getting underway, there was an explosion at the top of the road where builders had installed a new fence and it seems they had damaged a cable (curious that that may well be our fault) anyway they all shot off to deal with that as it was actively blowing up every few minutes and making a large hole! So we now still have a generator and now a hole in the drive too. It is progress I suppose. I then drove to J28 of the M1 for my overnight.

Morning all, up to Tyneside for a couple of days to the factory to sort some new gym products.

Have fun all…
At least ours was back up in 3 hours so nothing like your issues

My grandson now wants a digger for his garden! He has been watching and reporting all day.

We have a large and very deep 1.6m deep hole in the driveway and an almost as deep crevasse that was the pavement beyond! The fault is not our cable, it is as I suspected this odd rogue cable that only we are connected to! They have not reconnected us and we still have the generator for at least another night… On the plus side, at this stage, the resin bound is all in place and the setts are apparently all saved to go back down.

Just arrived in Stuttgart. Other than an entire G&T depositing itself ingloriously into my lap (I'm still damp) it was an easy run, but the Wasen / beer pish-up looks terrifying even from the air. It was perhaps prescient that I wet myself even before arriving.

Hello everyone!
The second and final day of this meeting in Apeldoorn. Hopefully there will be some more on track action at the velodrome whilst I work. We got chatting with a couple of the women on the team yesterday and they were quite inspirational.
Looking forward to getting home though.
HapPea Friday! xX

Morning all from Newcastle, finishing up this morning at the factory in Gateshead and down to Doncaster to see a forum member for a curry and beer!

Update on the electrical supply; we have power!!!! Jeanette got severely upset with them on the phone yesterday afternoon as the generator was failing all the time and they had got so close to resolving it. They sent the fourth team out and they cracked on with it, completing the connection about 20.45, by 21.50 the generator was bravely pushed off the driveway that remains.

Have fun all…

Morning all

My diary filled up remarkably quickly after deciding we could not take out holiday.
My son is safely ensconced in his old bedroom but had a bad night with pain so I was up with him for a while during the night.
So today, WFH - later pub.
