Never herd a bad word about the service at Dick Lovett Si....Glad all went well...If I new you were getting a drive in a Ghibli I would have come with you. :)

I almost rang you on the way back Andy as I went over the old bridge and guessed I wasn't far from you, but it was almost 6pm by then and guessed you probably had better things to do on a Friday night!

I must say the customer service at Dick Lovett was the best I've ever had from any dealer.

On arrival they checked the car in and gave me a 20 min tour of the workshops - which were v impressive. There was some serious metal in there including 2 x 250 California's worth circa £1.6m each.

I'd intended to wait whilst they serviced the car and took my laptop so I could do some work. They made me very comfortable, brought me tea and coffee every 30 mins or so, and after a while they gave me one of the offices to use.

At lunchtime they offered to go out to get me something to eat, and when I said I'd take a walk to get some food they googled the nearest places and made suggestions as to where best to go.

They also made a better job of cleaning the car than I probably would've done.

I'd haggled on the price before taking the car in to them and I must say that for the money they seem to have done a great job and made the experience a very easy and pleasant one.

Drew, you know how to cheer a man up.....I'm off to work and you are looking at snow capped mountains...

Sorry mate - and yesterday, to rub it in, I went skiing in the morning, then to the Geneva Motor Show in the afternoon. Now THAT's how to cheer a man up. Me, I'll admit, but there you go ;)

I'll be back at work in a windowless room on Monday - it's swings and roundabouts...

What a crackin first half to the Ireland Italy game I have to say, very clean and intense play. Shame the second half was such a route...

Scotland seem to have found themselves too...

Morning all, bar a post last night I have been missing for a while so thought I would say hello.

I am currently Maserati less but we are weighing up options for a car in the new year, as we need a sensible 4 seater a 4200 could be back in contention and if I'm feeling flush then maybe a Grantourismo, we both agreed that we would not want the same gearbox as we had on the last 4200 (cambiocorsa) we would both much prefer to have a manual.

So my quick Sunday question is does the GT come in manual? All the ads I have seen have been auto.

No is the simple answer after the 4200 no more manual box......The 4.2 GT had an Auto box and the later 4.7 GT had an auto and the MC Shift which is the same sort of thing as the CC...Paddle shift.

I don't think there is a true manual version of either the GS or the GT. I think the last real manual was the 4200.

But then again I might be wrong.

Morning all.

Early start today - 5am pickup and now at Heathrow en route to Dubai. Watching one of BA's shiny new A380s trundling passed the window in the sun and wishing I was at home, in bed.

Drew - your weekend sounds pretty **** good!

You are correct Andy.....4200 was the last true manual from Maserati and you will never see another one again...

Morning all. Come on Andy get yourself away from all this German stuff and get back into the real machinery. Truth of the matter is they can all cost mate. Not as dear as kids though.
