Another 'restoration' programme about a car that couldn't pull a greasy stick out of a dogs ar5e. Why do we bother? I really can't answer that as I will most probably watch it too. I must be a hopeless addict.

Ben the car only weighs the weight of 4 maser wheels and the exhaust! so it doesn't need 400hp...

And that Coventry Climax engine was a gem!

Great show, though, as always with the "For The Love Of Cars" series, I wish there was a red button type extended version where you get so see less of the drama, and more of the rebuild!

It was a water pump!
I loved that section though. All the way through I couldn't help but thing was Chapman interested in the engine because it was lightweight, or because it was super cheap ;)

I may be in the minority here, but it looked amazing in the modern bright green when they found it..!

It was a very good show and I too like this pairing, one spanner genius and the other a mouthy presenter....where have I seen that before???

Car SOS
Wheeler Dealers
Gas Monkey Garage

I could go on...

That's called "playing to the audience" if there wasn't the pushy sales guy **** in there winding up the mechanics then it wouldn't be TV!

At least the UK car programs have not sunk to the contrived depths of the US car programmes...although you can see on wheeler dealers that they paint bits and put on new tyres and don't reveal it in there totting up!

On the WD 3200 they blatantly replaced the throttle body that MR did for £395 then forgot to add the pedal pot at the end even thought they showed Ed fitting it, thats got to be another £300 buried?

There is a website that tracks the history of the WD Japanese cars after the show. I will try and find the link but its grim reading for most of them. Infact the skyline was broken up for parts within weeks of the show.
