The new Ghibli

I was driving the QPV GT S through Switzerland yes in convoy with a new Ghibli S. A few thoughts struck me - first, it’s a menacing bugger on your tail with running lights on. Two - it’s quick, we “played” and I had to hustle to keep up (wife and daughter not happy) and 3 it’s rear looks have been improved - don’t know how but it’s better than I remembered from launch.

looking at the prices on AT - this could become a new DD cos they is cheap!

Yup, I'm seeking a new daily and they are one of the options. I can easily fish a diesel with 40k miles from the auctions for under £15k. That's a lot of car for the cash I think.

At these prices - the petrol was tempting me!

The petrol is a better engine but even though I know that (first hand, I had one!), I think for daily driving the diesel is fine. Petrol versions seem to be about 3-4k more which is quite a chunk when you're talking about cool, daily cars.

There's that one I posted up about with chunks missing from the bonnet that would be right up your street... oh wait, maybe that was a non-S variant.

Or, wait for the Trofeo version!!

Trofeo would be a handful.... it rather get a fezza preloved for that price!

+1 the S is a great car whereas the diesel has that awful asthmatic change up at the red line. I preferred the QP S to drive given it has standard skyhook.

The Ghilbi S is very rare though but plenty of standard petrols around in first or second power output versions.

Petrol Non-S to S is just a remap though from what I’ve read?

Ive had a petrol model for a few days in the past when mine was in. Its a lovely engine, and it pulls all the way up to the redline, which is good. It doesnt have the mid range shove of the diesel though (not sure about the S, havent tried that). The sound is obviously much better too. Suppose it also depends on how many miles you are going to do.
