Thinking about a Gransport

I know I have only had my 2006 GS for a few months, but I have given mine a good thrashing and it hasn't missed a beat (keeping my fingers crossed). Full Maserati service history with only 18k miles on the clock. I know it is said they don't like sitting (what does) and that pipes can be dodgy because of lack of use, but I haven't seen a leak, heard a rattle or any such so far. And I regularly use the full revs each time I am out, although you can only use the full revs for a few seconds if you want to keep your licence.....

It might be more to do with how they are stored. Mine has only ever been stored in a warm garage and has always been taken off the road by October before the winter sets in.

Of course every car if different Paul but in general, low mileage cars usually carry some issues due to lack of use. It's true of many cars, particularly highly strung sports and supercars which need fettling and using to be at their best. I once bought a 10000 mile Porsche 924 from a private collector in as new condition. It chucked all it's fresh oil out the back on the motorway as seals had perished due to lack of use. They had dried and when put under pressure, off they went!

I have seen that kind of issue before, but low mileage cars don't necessarily mean they haven't been used. Surely a low mileage summer use only car shouldn't be ignored?

But as you say, every car is different.

So I went down to ADG and had a chat with Alistair this afternoon, spend a good time looking around a car, aside from the paddles feeling a bit odd it felt a wonderful place to be and certainly the place to go after my M3.

I have an idea of spec so it's just a case of waiting till all the stars align now. However if someone in Kent would be kind enough to take me out in one I'd be very much appreciative and chuck some fuel money your way!
