Lovely. Would be at least £30k from a dealer and with a warranty. £26k is a great price. And in the second best colour for a GS (after Victory Blue);)

Lovely car and having had a 4200 in that colour then I can confirm it is the best colour. Presently telling myself it is too similar to what I had but.....

Shoot me down, the same 6/7/8 cars have all been for sale now at the "market" prices for 6 months+, so if they are appreciating it can only be in circles where they are changing hands without being advertised, think Dicky may have sold 3/4 publicly in last 6 month....

That's the thing, you need to take the current price and knock £2k off as that is the proper price they go for.

I think the cars that are sticking around are in the main suffering from Low miles but also low service history.

I viewd so many with the old 'full history' only to find four visits in ten years.

My own GS is due for the market soon, but has 11 services, brand new AC compressor, cam covers done, wishbone done, new clutch 3 miles ago, 4 new tyres, 12 months MOT, and a fresh service despit only 370 since the last...oh and full LE spech...it will be at similar price to these dealer ones despite its higher miles...and I will not be dropping more than a pound or two.

Are you going to a GT Peter ?
Now you have yours perfect I would want to use her over the Summer but then so will a new owner.

Sorry for the OP and thread drift.

Possibly Phil, I did less than 400 miles last year and still spent close to £4000 on maintenance, OK there was a new clutch in that. So this talk about these cars going up in value is a bit of a misnomer given it cost more to keep it 100% than it rises (aprox a grand pa).

There is also the nagging doubt that something else will go as the cars are all 10 years+ now (Heater matrix, another wishbone, a buckled unobtainable wheel,) although I have replaced most of the fragile parts now.

But then a GT is still going down in value and will cost the same to maintain properly - its no better built or mechanically is it?

So decisions decisions....and in the interim I will be enjoying on a trip with Enzo in April to the Lakes and also a visit to Etoge in late Summer, after all I do need to use those lovey Maserati cases I got to fit in its boot.

I don't think anyone changes from a GS to a GT (or the other way) for financial reasons. You do it because you want to.

Both have broadly similar running costs (i.e. not cheap). But there is no doubt that the GT is generally still depreciating (but only slowly), while the GS is generally appreciating (equally slowly). But so what. Both cars have their plus points, so just pick the one that fits your requirements at the given time. Whichever you chose, it'll be the right decision.
