Tidying up the 4200

Finally got round to improving some bits that have been annoying me on my 4200.

Some brackets in the engine bay grit blasted and powder coated in satin black
Wheel arch liners removed and deep cleaned removing 11 years of grot
New 'Designed by Giugiaro' side decals (old ones literally washed out by TFR)
Wheel studs repainted silver

Still plenty to do including new wheel centers, wheel refurb and brake hubs painted. All happening soon.

I wish people would stop doing this, it's putting people like me to shame for not doing it...I need to stop refurbishing the house, and going off abroad, and stop using the Maserati for trips etc...

Looking good, any tips on the removal of those parts are warmly welcomed by all...

Warm the badge up or do it when it's been in the sun for a bit and cut it off with dental floss or fishing line

Arch liners are just screws a couple of 8mm bolts and some skinned knuckles

Not too bad removing the liners, only need an 8mm socket and a cross head screwdriver.
Putting them back with the holes lined up correctly and getting the fastners back in took longer but still not as bad as most "Newer Cars".

The gtechiq C5 wheel armour will last longer but the RG Nano coating is VERY easy to apply to a properly cleaned surface, lasts for approx 4-6 months on a daily driver and is much cheaper to buy. I would recommend 2 coats. You pays your money and takes your choice.

I can't remember the exact amount but they were very reasonable .... and they came in a Maserati bag :happy2:
