For **** sake.
First labour's manifesto (comedy tax rises) and now speed bins.
The Middle East starting to look even more attractive

I thought the law stated that speed camera had to be highlighted. Although to be fair they are pushing it with the tiny side of gantry cameras now!

North Wales police had a camera in a horse box a few years ago , I'm not sure if they still use it

I'm all for visible speed cameras in areas of known accident blackspots & areas of danger such as schools and heavily pedestrian areas.

However totally against sneaky stealth cameras in areas other than these just there to catch people even a couple of mph over with no real increase in danger so just there as another stealth tax & revenue generator.

If we all drive all electric vehicles & drive to all speed limits at all times regardless of road conditions where will the govt generate it's revenues from?

I can see a few of these bins being accidentally nudged!

I'm looking for a new home overseas. As bad as you guys have it. Nothing compares with the combined misery of the USA. Especially in my two polar opposite homes here

Burning wheely bins coming to a site near you! Those f*ckers won't last 10 minutes over here; they've got wheels on ffs. How long before one gets tied to the back of a car and taken for a quick trip? Imagine the photos they wouldn't get out of a mound of hardened liquified plastic. What a monumentally stupid idea. Still, it makes for good headlines, and it's about time I got a tow bar fitted to the Maser!

They will still have to have signs to let you know they are there........I have no issue with them in 30 mph areas.....anyone speeding in these type of built up areas deserve to be caught but it's when they use then just for revenue and not for safety reasons that pees me off....saw a young girl get knocked over a killed by some **** driving at 60 in a 30 many years so anyone moaning about being caught speeding in 30 to 50 speed limits just need stop and think for a minute. We can complain as much as we like but if you break the speed limit and get caught then that's your fault you know the law so no one else to blame. The only one for me is motorways still at 70 is antiquated. When motorway speed limits were set it took two miles to stop a car from 70.....no abs.....none of the current safety figures. Cars are more efficient and safer than they were back then and it's the idiot behind the wheel that causes the accident not the speed.....

This isn't going to make a difference to me. There are a plenty of places around North Yorks were you can have a spirited drive and not exceed the limits, the roads don't really allow it. I'm not sure they'll be placing these on the roads over the tops to check on the speed of the sheep ;)

More weight to the idea of having more low weight low power low friction rwd sports cars then. Maybe a step further than a GT86 or MX5.

When I was a lad, I got caught speeding too many times in my FIAT 124 Sports, so I searched to find a car I could have a fun drive at the highway speed limit. Result was an MGA 1600 mk1. 60 mph was an adventure.

At least we know they won't be putting the cameras out on bin collecting day!!
This is about making money not saving lives, it makes me sick!
In our village there is a speed limit of 30 by the more built up area, then goes to no speed limit past us on a narrow lane with tight bends Oh, and a riding school where there are always people riding horses on the lane..........Go figure that one!

The police force is the heavilyiest cut service with no money. Looks like there is a way to raise the funds they need at the expense of the people they are here to protect.

I am also all for cameras in 30,s, near schools and public and nicking idiots but there will be a revolt and people will run bogus or foreign plates and cause an entirely new problem for police resources.

Buy in a car from France as there is nothing the police can do about it.

The more they introduce silly laws and cash cows like this the more I sway to getting a proper track car to enjoy or enter a race series as that way there is no getting done or no longer does having a fast car become a liability.

I guess IF they come here they won't be left alone, they'll be used with a copper standing nearby the idea being drivers passing it won't be signaling other drivers there's a speed trap ahead

This the kind of dick that needs taking off the road, 20mph coming off an industrial estate yesterday, he was in front of me for 1/2m then turned into morrisons

Remember seeing a similar discussion on a Ferrari forum a few years ago.
Comments were the newer cars were so capable and refined that at legal speeds they were almost boring. Suggestion was go for likes of a 308/328 that was working much harder at much lower speeds.
I get more of a buzz out of an old bike at 50mph as someone at 150 on a modern machine. I wonder if that is part of the reason for classic prices going upwards in last few years.
