Not sure why my other thread was locked so I'll conclude the journey here...

Due to insurance issues, I'll have to delay buying a QP until September time reason being I took out a new traders policy with a different insurer last September (my previous policy let me own virtually anything) yet this new one will only let me own one model of "fast" car and that's a Jag 'R'. So I've decided to buy an XF-R and go fishing again in Autumn.

I did get very close to a deal with Richard Grace on his QP who was a pleasure to deal with and will definitely be my first port of call when the time comes.

Lee, I have had a motor trade policy with Tradewise for a few years and had issues with the Maser last year. I am with Tradex now and have added sports car cover and the Maser & E55k are not an issue now. Who you with?

I was with Tradewise (who were very accommodating) and now with Covea (who aren't)

Not heard of Covea....as you say maybe you just need to hold fire until renewal. Not something I'm sure you do well! Sept is a long way away ;)

I got that impression. It is certainly one of mine. I should be a saint! If we meet someone in the middle we would make a well balanced team ;)

For anyone vaguely interested, here's my new purchase...505bhp of V8 supercharged bliss....

Thanks for all the help and advice I've been given and I'm sure I'll be back pretty soon....

Nice motor Lee. I'm sure it will give you plenty of joy.

Just taken my XJ back I had up for sale as having some corrective paintwork done on the E55k. I forgot what a supremely quiet, comfortable & cosseting thing she is. Might keep it now & sell the E55k next instead!

Do love the QP and it is definitely on the future hit list but always fancied one of these since they came out, and I've always had a love of Q-Cars which this is.

And before anyway asks, no, I'm not a member of a Golf Club with my own parking space...

Think I would keep the XJ....A bit more individual than the E55....

I had one of those 4 years ago. Understated and devastatingly quick. I've never been in anything else (with 4 doors) that just kept on accelerating like the XFR does. And it makes a nice noise. I got rid of it because it stopped 'doing it for me' and was an expensive daily!!

The exhaust note on this is fantastic, only real complaint is it's a little subdued so I'll be looking into gutting the cars etc to give it a bit more obnoxiousness.

I'll declare my preferences from the off; my "ideal" engine has a supercharger bolted to it, the whole nature of its power delivery is exactly what I look for in a performance car.

And yes, it is comfortable, very comfortable actually and I wouldn't hesitate to jump in it and drive anywhere in the country without the fear of arriving with a numb **** and a bad back!
