Smaller than a GranTourismo, with a V config engine and twin turbos. Hhmm, sounds familiar and it'll take that a while to get out on the road as well.

Interesting Matt. Makes sense to be honest. Would have thought that the 4C would being so small would restrict the design....This way the designers can be letf to do there thing...

Sounds like the new GS is going to be a 2 seater though, shame, I think the current GS is the perfect size with only a bit more boot space required.

If they end up doing a Maser 4C aswell that will be a big range line up from just 2 cars a few years ago:

QP
Levante
GranTurismo
Ghibli
GranSport
4C variant

Personally I can't see them building a 4C variant I think it will be badged Abarth or something. Hopefully they will drop the SUV off the nearest pier too:

QP
GranTurismo
Ghibli
GranSport

The 4X4 ..... Think this will def be on its way as I would imagine to Maserati this will be the most important model to come out for some time as it will open up a whole new market and segment to them....The Far East will snap them up and probably USA. I'm with you Matt as it just doesn't feel right but I sort of understand why they are doing it....I do think the ma have jumped into the segment too late though...But what do I know.

2015 would be good a launch date for me. Gives me a couple of years in the Ghibli, enjoy that, then trade in.

The GranSport in my eyes is the best car Maserati have ever built ... I'm surprised it has taken them so long to come up with a successor.

I recall reading this at the time. Makes sense as they can admit that the GranTurismo is really a grand tourer - clue is in the title! That's why mine is the auto - suits the car better.

It's very hard to make a proper four seater which is light enough and small enough to be a real sports car so the GranSport must be a two seater or a small four seater. No preference for engine location but if they are going to ditch the rear seats completely then they are as well going mid engined if Ferrari will allow.
