Helllo everyone, I have a 2002 Spyder 4200 Cambiocorsa with Xenon Headlights

a strange fault has developed, while i was driving with my side light on, I switched on my main headlights and suddenly all my lights failed, I lost the headlights, side lights, instrument cluster lights and brake lights, I checked the fuses and relays in the passenger footwell and everything was ok, but I still had no lights, I have spoken to various maserati specialists and dealers and they have never heard of such a fault, any idea/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

thanks, Steve:

Steve,
I have had lighting stalks fail on me, it could be the switch on the dash. Check on the back of the switch to see if you have any power to it, if not work back from there. It could be as simple as the power feed to the switch coming off.
Cheers

tried most things, swapping items from another 4200 I happen to have, but it still doesn't work, I will take it to an auto electrician on monday, then toa maserati specialist after that if the fault is still there, the nearest maserati specialist to me is about a 100 miles as there are none in the cardiff area anymore

I had/have a similar issue on the Alfa GT.

When on full beam with the fogs on switching them back to dip caused the same fault, total light out.

Before this happened I noted that the stalk did not want to move freely and had to sort of force it.

I suspect the stalk but basically do not drive with the fogs and full beam on, just incase.

I had something similar years ago, turned out to be a connection failure at a wiring junction box. A poke and a prod at your connections may highlight but with so many wires nowadays it may take an auto electrician. Good luck
