Trading up to a QP V

Hi Folks,
New to these boards but not Maserati ownership. In a week or so I'll take delivery of my new to me Quattroporte V 2011 Sport GTS. She's mint, black and very low mileage - but I intend to change all that...
This one replaces a v12 4WD from some company round the corner from Maserati run but a guy called Sergio or something. Anyway - nice to be in a proper car with 4 doors...

Seriously considering a wheel upgrade on it (novitec perhaps) - anyone else done this?

Previous Maserati ownership was 2 years with a 2002 3200GT - Rosso Maranello - Black with red piping inside. If anyone has RV02OOY then drop me a mail here - love to know where it is now...

Cheers,
Rich

Welcome Rich!

We need the obligatory pics when you take delivery!

Others will be along shortly to get you to mod it in some way or the other. Always liked the GTS alloys personally.

Welcome Rich - rarely seen a QPV with aftermarket wheels that improved appearances. Will be interested to see what you pick.

Not too sure, just the stock black gloss painted rims look somehow not quite right. I've looked st the various GTS alloys for inspiration but not seen anything that seems to work. Having said that I've trawled a fair few options and nothing has struck me as suitable yet..

Maybe stay with original wheels, but change the finish. Not sure I could handle gloss black wheels! Mine are mid-grey, which goes well with the blue bodywork. Most black GTS models I've seen also have the mid-grey wheels, so maybe that's worth a thought. Anyway, welcome back to the Maserati fold.

I really like them Tony...When I saw the car last week it looked stunning and very mean sitting on those black wheels.........You have a very lovely low miles QP GTS there my friend.....Hope you don't mind me posting a picture. Stunning...

Thanks folks - great picture Andy, my new desktop background until I can pick her up next week.
I'll probably take my time on whether to change the wheels, I guess I've never been a fan of black wheels in the past but maybe these will grow on me.

It's a superb example, I do worry that maybe it's too nice to actually drive, but on the other hand it would be a shame not to use it! Only a week to go :)

The only way is UP to a QPV. And once you're there, there is no where else to go really. Lovely car! Consider Ewans's sage advice..

I'm pretty sure the current generation QP and Ghibli wheels will also fit the QPV.

A week on the naughty step for you :naker:

Maseratis were made to be driven, give it a few days then you start noticing the admiring glances and kids nudging their mates, look a Maserati, they really do have peoples affection

Drive a classic, a defender or a Maserati and people want to talk to you

I like classics and oddball cars. Apart from the FF and a few other things I'm lucky enough to have a '76 narrow body 911 hot rod.
It's fun.
