Hi all,

I've been retired for a year now and it was time to move on so after eight years of trusty service I have parted company with my 4200 Spyder CC.

I did 35k miles in her without having to fit a clutch and she is still running fine, I think that maybe thanks to the FD DBW.
I suffered a massive £4000 depreciation, so £500 per year ! and I think I spent around £3500 on repairs and servicing, £1800 on
stone chip re-spay and wheel restoration and an average of £500 per year in insurance.
Petrol costs were probably quite high though !
So she's been very good car over the years and I thought hard and long about putting her in storage that I have, But she's better off being driven.

If Maserati ever come out with a new sports convertible, then I may be back. But for the moment its a little yellow Alfa for the pensioner LOL

Hello Nick, not seen you about for a while now.

Maserati will have something smaller and topless shortly so may see you back.

What Alfa have you got?

Hi Matt,

They should have kept the California as a Maserati then I would still be in a Maserati.

I have Just taken delivery of 4C Spider, Anniversary Spec.

Being Built by Maserati in Modena did help in my choice.
Maybe they will build the 6C in Modena with the Giulia Quadrifoglio lump, Make it a Spyder and then Badge it as a Maserati :)
Now that would get me back quickly.

Nick, great news re the retirement and you have had good use of the Maser.

Did you also factor in your exploding tyres?

All the best and hope to see you around in your new chariot.

Hi Peter,

I had forgotten about the exploding Tyres and the price of new underpants :)
Although one of those was in theF355.

I am thinking of taking the 4C Spider to the BIAMF this year, will have to see as I have to come down from Liverpool now.

Yes hope to se you there as I will differently try to get there this year, in the Alfa section for the first time.
I will have had a bit of time to get used to the handling by then as its so very different to the Maserati and he gear changes are in another universe.
The Maserati in Sport with the DBW seemed like you had sent a telegram to the gearbox in comparison !
