Hi guys, I have 2007 QP Sport GT and I'm now looking for replacement tyre advice please.

Currently have Pirelli Zero's of course and likely to swap for the same, but any recommendations on best fully fitted price source, plus, what is the opinion on run-flats? Cheers

Run flats have really stiff sidewalls and tend to ruin what little compliance is left in such low profile tyres. Work of the devil.

Not a fan of the run flats, but i must admit they have been dramatically improved over the years.

Run-flats need special strong wheels too, and the QP alloys certainly aren't superstrong.

My only personal experience of run-flats was with the 5-series. They don't run flat any further than I could comfortably walk, and then you are left with a car that's useless, as there is no spare, no tools, nothing to allow you to continue your journey at all. Poor to drive on, then failed to provide their supposed advantage when there was a puncture. Never again.

Thanks for the heads-up on the run flats. I've never used them before but the potential benefit of not having to pull over in the event of a puncture sounded good, but looking at the comments I'll stick with the great drive and stuff the run-flat idea.

OK, it's off to find the best deal on Pirelli PZero's . Cheers.

I did a straight swap on my GT with Pirelli's for new Pirelli's when required. But, on my other car I recently put on some Goodyears and I have to say they made a world of positive difference to the car. Of course, its entirely different car and front wheel drive, but it has probably changed my past approach of doing a simple same-for-same changeover on tyres.

I am fitting Goodyear eagle f1 s next time on mine. Got very good review in Evo a while back. Camskill tend to do a good deal.

I will be fitting the same Goodyear Eagle F1 AS2s on my Spyder in the next month or so.

I had a pair of rears fitted last month & couldn't be happier. Excellent grip, not much in the way of road noise (although I can't hear much over the exhaust) and very good rim protection. They were £350 all in from my local indie.

This certainly appears to be "the" tyre of choice at the moment; I changed my PS's for these last month and for £600 all in at a local fitter I can't be happier.

I have run flats on the daily and the Pirelli's from Bridgestones are a marked improvement but I still really don't like them. They tram line, are noisey, wear out on the rear in less than 10k miles no matter how you drive it and are a bargain at £200 a tyre for 225/50/17....

Yes it was Greg. The fronts were priced at around £275 for the pair but hopefully mine will hang on for another 5k miles so will be next year
thanks stuart.
my fronts are good and backs are bit more worn but still not too bad just now so always worth keeping an eye on what people are paying..........however, would prefer not to be shelling out for tyres just now as well though since I'm waiting on the mot and timing belt service bill from phil at PK......anyone for toast and beans?

really... I'm temped to buy and store, why not!

That's what I did with the back tyres Roger. I'm waiting and watching for the fronts to drop and I'll do the same - buy and store.

If one buys all 4 @ £99 then it means an entire re-shoeing of a Maserati with reputable and factory recognised tyres for £400 ALL IN!!!!

How much is one stock PZero from the main dealers: £335!

You've got to be mad not too.....Spread the word.
