Hi all- anyone know anyone I can call to help start my car in the London Battersea area? Car has been parked for a couple of months and is completely dead. Any leads would be very appreciated!

Is jumpstarting using another car a complete no go? I hear too many conflicting stories… Halfords is closed today

Not sure what the experts will say but I have jumped from another a number of times, I just don’t have the other car running, then it’s” just a battery” .

I think Scaf’s suggestion is a very good one and minimises risks to our sensitive Italian cars.
Along with Conaero’s tips, you may need certain error codes reset (like the TPMS did on mine) but you can do all that later with your usual garage or at home with an ODB scanner if you have one.

If it struggles when you connect the other battery/car leave it connected for 10 mins then try again.

Deffo not great idea if it's running. Un-expected disconnection can cause all sorts of nasty spikes. Hope you get sorted

If it has been parked up for a couple of months, how is it "urgent"? Not exactly been a high priority job. Get a new battery tomorrow when Halfords is open.

Did you get the car going ?

Thanks for the follow up! Bought the NOCO this morning and tried but completely dead. No power what so ever. It’s not even recognising the battery so wondering if my connections may be bad or if the NOCO didn’t have enough power/battery?

Im charging it atm and will give it another go and at the same time waiting to a mobile mechanic to come by with a new battery.

Unless the NOCO was really flat, not a chance it didn't have enough power. I've used them to jump V6 and V8 diesels without breaking sweat.

You should, at least, be able to get the ignition on and so on. My guess is bad connection (check the negative thumb terminal) or blown fuse

Good news! Car powered on- just needed a manual override.

Im just not able to turn the hand break on and drive it so will have to probably turn it off then back on again

Yes press and hold the ‘I’ to give full beans down the pipe.
