Hi,

Just went on to the VERDI website and was surprised by the price match offer they are currentky doing. Last i read on this forum is that they were in a spot of bother??? Unless im mistaken.

I need to get an annual service but was interested in any views/experiences of VERDI. Or should i just give a wide birth?

I've been meaning to do a write up on Verdi for the last few weeks as it seems a lot of people on another website have jumped on the bandwagon of slating him despite the problems now bring rectified. I would, and have taken my cars to him and his prices are very competitive indeed.

He has been in business for 20 years or so, he obviously does not want to lose what he has spent so long building up. Give him a call and you will be pleasantly surprised.

If you do speak to Karl, tell him Ram said hi!

They did have a spot of bother but as you say have had a good reputation for many years.......

Well if they are trying to work their way out of the hole they found themselves in then why not.

Just demand photos of work carried out and check that parts ordered have been fitted. I am not saying they would do such a thing but just cover yourself.

For me, what has gone on is enough to mean I wouldn't use them. I know people get it wrong from time to time and deserve a second chance but I think there's just too much smoke on this one. I don't judge someone by their mistakes, judge them by how they put them right.

If they scrimp on selling I hate to think of the shortcuts they could make on servicing.

Well the SOR is something I would never do after hearing the horror stories.

I am not well versed in what actually went wrong at Verdis but I may read the PH write up. I am happy for anyone to express their own personal accounts of dealing with Verdi as long as they are accurate and not base upon hearsay.

Yeah, the trouble is Matt, as you poiint out, there's hearsay involved and you need to try read through it. For my money, if there's a questionmark over a company, when there are so many other alternatives, why bother? For serviceing, you've got Autofficina, Joe Macari, McGraths, Emblem, Shiltech, Autoshield, Mike Roberts, the list goes on....why would you go to a comany who is being questioned over their operating ethics?

Personally I wouldn't go near them, having watched the video linked in that PH thread. Not very good at all.
