Hi guys, since i bough my GS i had a strange vibration from 4.000 rpm. At lower revs it dosnt exist and at higher i think neither.

It feels like a deep resonation, and it can be noticed in the steering wheel.

Last owner saids that i´m a paranoic, and i though the same, but this morning i was free, i searched in google "maserati vibration 4000 rpm" and voila:

http://www.maseratilife.com/forums/modern-maserati/1216-vibration-4000-rpm.html

is it so common like in that thread seems? what do you thik?

(sorry about my english! remember i'm spanish!!!! :jptongue: )

If it's vibrating in neutral then it could be an unbalanced clutch. If it only does it in gear then my money would be on the propshaft.

Mine was the torque tube which I had replaced with a new one under warranty. I had a vibration when driving, but not in neutral, thus it was not the clutch out of balance. If the vibration manifests itself while in neutral, then it could be the clutch which, on a 4200, is supposed to be balanced when fitted. But I understand that this procedure is a pain. On a GT the clutch is pre-balanced.
I also read a forum thread from Luuk in Holland whose 4200 had the same issue - he tried with some success, to straighten the torque tube shaft to eliminate vibration at certain revs.

Many thanks! Do you know if it is a specially expensive issue? I have many open fronts this month...hahaha
