VIN Number - help please

I downloaded the Maserati service app from the Apple App Store today. When it asked for my VIN, it doesn't recognise it. Checked it and re-entered it eleventy hundred times, no joy. So then I tried it on a web VIN decoder. Recognises it's a Maserati, but no other details. The car is a 2013 GT Sport. Anyone had the same issue - any ideas??
All help gratefully received.
