Welsh Police pet hate at the moment (front plates) and for repeat offenders they try to get the DVLA to confiscate your plate, if its displayed wrong.

Maybe we should relocate the DVLA out of Swansea so they don't get twice the income from all this petty FPs

Bolloxs to the sheep botherers. They are Welsh FFS; they have to hate something to take their mind of their handicap. Inbred Druids the lot of them.

What happened about the missing plate, £30 spot fine?

Told them it fell off yesterday and I couldn't get it back on. Showed it to him in my boot.

So he put it on the system. Gave me a warning and gave me his business card with. Note on the back to say I had been spoken to already if i got stopped again.

So I'll get it fixed the next time I take out the car which will be in about 3 months time!

I got a warning getting off the ferry at Dover on the way back from Le Mans.
Another warning when I was parked up by a passing plod car.

And when I was pulled over they told me I would be going on the system. However, I've still not put it on as the front is getting resprayed shortly.

Be interesting to see if the police escort make any comment about it on Saturday in Southend.

Krishna's passenger has bailed for the Spain trip, 22~1st Oct. any takers?

Please PM me.

As it's last minute and the seat is paid and may go to waste, Krishna is prepared to discount it.

We are looking at returning Monday morning on the train from Calais, so will need to stay an additional night, can any of our seasoned travelers recommend a decent hotel about an hour or so from Calais.
Cheers

I might have missed it but is the Saturday night hotel in France booked? Happy to sort myself if it's easier.

Is Boulogne too far/close to Calais?
If not, and if available, La Belle Haute is great.

Thank you, looks good & must be as it's all booked, Boulogne looks like a good stop so will do some more research. Thanks

That's a shame - we've had to book months in advance before so not surprised it's unavailable at short notice. The Alexandra is basic but comfortable with the Metropole being a little more stylish. Their garage is a nightmare though - if you stop in Boulogne centre the St. Louis car park is secure and convenient. If you've time for lunch the next day we always eat at Le Marivaux. Nothing fancy but everything you'd want from a French bistro.

Best Western in Le Touquet! It's called The Grand.

60 mins down the road from Calais and Le Touquet is always buzzing.

Or if not try The Best Western in Montreuil Sur Mer, lovely medeavil town and again 45 mins from Calais bit will be quiet.

Something different, try The Convent hotel in Lille and go back via Dunkirk.

Nearly, we are in the process of booking Best Western Plus in Clermont Ferrand, half way between Lloret and Le Havre. We will be going over the Milau Bridge too.

This is the last thing to book although the Catameran fell through.

Isn't any one with an English passport seen within 100 yards of a Maserati, black listed form Le Touquet?
