did the 4200 ever have blue front seats same colour as 3200? i want to buy new front seats but im not too keen on the 3200 ones, 4200 are better obviously, otherwise i was thinking if i could get some custom fitted from another manufacture ? do you think i would get away with black front seats in my car? (everything else blue...)

in simple, i dont know what to do! eurospares want £400 for 2 front seats but im not keen on keeping the 3200 seats.

i want something more sporty looking :) but not kit car-ish looking

The 4200 did have blue seats IIRC, but whether or not the same blue as the 3200 I don't know. There are a couple of black seats on evil bay but look to have been stored underwater. Perhaps an upholsterer could change the colour to blue.

Just speak to the guy, point out your concerns and put in a vety cheeky bid. He might just be happy to get rid.

G'day Neil,

I actually got them custom made by Cobra in the UK.

Cobra sell the rails to fit our cars as well, they are about $100 each. The only issue i'm having to work out is where to attach the seatbelt buckle... but going to see a seat speacialist hopefully tomorrow.

Yeah they are spot on! They matched the crema leather and black piping from my car.

I actually wanted some GS or MCV seats, but they are redicously expensive to buy direct from Maserati.

i can have the black 4200 front seats on ebay for £250, what we reckon they would look like just fitted as is? baring in mind the rear windows are heavily tinted so rears cannot be seen without shining light in there

Remember you can recolour leather with very good results, the carpet too can be recoloured.

If your drivers seat is collapsed or ripped, then go for the black seats then Google Woolies Trim and look for the colour kits. I recon if you took your interior panels someone who did this you would be looking at less than £500 to have them coloured, £100 if you were to do it yourself.

A good Auto Trimmer could easily repair your original seat, if you wanted to go that route.

Never been a fan of the blue interior Rob, but with the car being white, you can get away with it, so maybe your repair would make more sense and save a lot of agro.

Black seats are good. Pretty sure that my new mate in the leather business could either recover or re-colour for you as desiered.
