Hi guys

I'm sure this has been covered before but I'm getting warning lights for both airbags and check transmission go to dealer . Changed the battery so unfortunately its not the simple and cheap fix .
The warnings aren't always on and come and go so not sure what to do as car drives perfectly .

Sounds very Italian. But seriously, if they come on and off it isn't that serious(used to happen a lot in my 4200) See how it goes

Thanks Brendan. It’s just annoying as I’m thinking of trading in soon for a newer version but not sure how the dealers would see it.

Yes, this is very annoying as it's an excuse to give you less money.

Out if interest, how 's the car been? I'm thinking of getting one. I see you've had a few niggles with the car. Any particular reason you're moving on with the car?

Airbags are an MOT fail I believe. Dealer will hammer you for both I imagine. Certainly I'd be really wary of a sale with those on.

Connections under the seats are faves for the airbags. Transmission *can* be caused by alternator failing but only way to tell is to get it scanned

The car has been fantastic . Absolutely love it . Had it on a charity rally around the NC500 last year and it didnt miss a beat . Only reason I'm considering trading it in is the high miles on it . Now sitting on 103k miles as it was bought to drive . I will be trading in for a newer GT with less miles as love the car .

Thanks Catman , it just passed its MOT In Jan as lights were off that day lol . Will see if i can get alternator checked but any tips on checking the sensors under the seats ?

It's the connectors, not sensors. I'd get an Autel for £50 or whatever they are now, and find out what the codes are as opposed to trying to check specific systems. But that's just me ;)

Well done for the high mileage!
I believe on the GT the passenger airbag switch is a common culprit of an airbag fault. If you open the passenger door you'll see it on the side of the dashboard. Pretty straight forward to change I would think.

Was it simple to install?

I get the occasional Airbag failure message, although not for a good few weeks.

It does concern me if family are in the car and the airbags aren’t operational, not to mention the embarrassment of the light in the instrument cluster.

Absolutely. Literally to 10 seconds . Pop out , change barrel on lock , pop back in
