Whilst we like to think of our cars as exotic supercars, in the eyes of the law they are a mass produced 4 seater that are designed to be used by the masses on the public highway.
I'd think that the vast majority of us on here can understand what to look for and what the warning signs are. However there are an equal (probably greater) number of owners who wouldn't know where to find a "wishbone" let alone what it looks like!... so please tell me what other mass produced car needs a monthly inspection with a "snake cam" to check it's safe to use on the road?
Personally I find it completely unacceptable... I might be able to live and work around the issue, there are those who can't and might end up paying a very heavy price for it.

does anyone know how many 3200 / 4200 / GS cars are in the UK that would need looking at. perhaps this could be a way for Maserati to get the information needed.
Does the list you have compiled cover both Spyder GT & CC variants?View attachment 29980View attachment 29981
Had mine up on a ramp the other day and checked front and rear and all seems ok.
However I am curious what the "revised" wishbones look like.
On the photos posted so far even the ones without issues seem to have what looks like a welding joint which could turn into a crack. Mine have a raised edge which is rectangular, if that makes sense, but either in excellent condition or I wondered if the revised part as there is no sign of any weld line.
May have missed or forgotten in amongst all the contributions on here on the subject. Sorry. As I have said before I don't believe there has been a revised part just a different batch of wishbones made by a different outsourced company.

Some have said they have the later wishbones. Just wondered what the visual difference was.
According to how many left figures for the 4th quarter of 2014 the figures are as follows :-

3200 manual -------------------- 186 -------------------------------------------------------80
3200 assetto manual ---------- 14 ------------------------------------------------------- 4
3200 assetto auto --------------- 13 ------------------------------------------------------- 4
4200 cambio corsa ------------ 442 ------------------------------------------------------73
4200 GT ----------------------------- 129 ------------------------------------------------------30
Spyder ------------------------------- 211 ------------------------------------------------------16

If the figures are accurate that means there are 1616 in the UK alone that have either already been affected or could be affected in the future by the issue.
I have no idea how much it would cost but maybe an open letter / advert in an Italian newspaper asking some pertinent questions such as why Mr Green isnt prepared to go for a drive in one of their own cars knowing there is a potentially deadly fault in the cars listed. If its the way to go forwards then I would chip in as I am sure many others would.
As far as his comment about matters of this nature stop with him is absolute tosh. Mr Green you work for the UK arm of an Italian company. You have a boss in the UK I have no doubt and they will also have people higher up the command chain in Italy.
Perhaps a call to Maserati UK's HR department would reveal who we need to complain too about Mr Green. Im sure somewhere along the line you answer to either Peter Denton or Harald j Wester or both.
