i;m just contemplating ringing rac on monday (i'm paying them through the insurance co already) and telling them to fit the battery (tho i don;t know if they'll come n my situation?
They will attend for a flat battery, no need to wait until Monday as they operate a 24 hour 7 day service, but they wouldn't normally fit a new part for you. They are an emergency service not a maintenance service. But, having said that, I've heard some stories of amazingly helpful call-out guys going the extra mile to help people. You might be lucky but you would need to have the new battery to hand, they certainly won't have a spare one on their van.
They would at least jump start it and you could drive to Halfords - they're only six miles away from you, and open on Sundays.
Jon- i will research on trickle charger tho if it has anything to do with connecting to a power source I won't be able to do it as i don;t have that facility where i park.
Yes, the trickle-charger, battery-conditioner, Ctek, needs mains power.
