I have been doing a little bit of lifeguarding recently. As you can imagine it is a low paid occupation. However, I see it as public service and a viable alternative to voluntary work. Whilst sitting in the lifeguards chair high above the swimming pool a woman who I didn't know approached me and said, 'I've seen your Maserati in the car park. The problem with that is people will think that you get paid too much!' and then walked off ...............What a nerve!

Reading between the lines here Paul.........................................your main complaint is about this encounter with said woman was -

1. Not under 25
2. Not remotely cute
3 If she was either of the above shes wasn't impressed and failed to leave a phone number.........

To ignore is good advice. I haven't taken the comments to heart but more importantly I thought it would raise a smile or two on this forum........ If so perhaps I should write and thank her!
