drove the car down to Phil at PK auto this morning, first time going there so had taken sat nav to switch on at perth. unfortunately sat nav did not seem to want to play so drove to prestonpans knowing Phil was not far from there, pulled in and phoned for directions. once sorted, turned the key.........nothing. tried again, as ever waiting for all the lights to go out........nothing :(
eventually decided nothing for it but to phone Phil again. gent that he is, he agreed to come out since I was only a few miles away. 5 min later he pulls up, steps into the car and nudges the gearstick into park position properly then car starts first time..............Phil grins wisely at the numpty standing next next to him with his head in his hands.
moral of the story, check the basics before calling someone out!!!:saifi3:

Oh dear, learning all the time as the old saying goes. Did make me smile, thankfully I have a manual ;-)

I think it's only fair that you surrender her back to my stewardship Greg. Clearly you're not ready for her small charms. It's nothing to be ashamed of, you just need a little more experience. I'll look after her in the meantime.

It happened to a neighbour of ours a few years ago. She was due to catch a flight and in panic mode when she rang the doorbell. Even though she was desperate to leave I couldn't help but tell her that she had a dead flurglewheel and it was going to be expensive...

He's a great guy, i'm sure you'll be very pleased with his work and enthusiasm for keeping these cars in tip top condition.

Hope he doesn't find the chewing gum I used on the gearbox casing.....ooops did i say that out loud.....:)

Phil does strike as a top bloke who loves everything italian and mechanical. might be a trek to get to him but will be worth it I reckon to keep the girl in good form :)
