Exactly how I felt when I saw the new supra, looks ok but strange that the supra is smaller than the GT86, and the fact it is basically a BMW Z4 coupe made in Austria just made me wanting the mkiv supra even more, had 2 in the past, a NA then a TT in Australia.I'm keeping occupied by working....Still one of the lucky ones and still going. Anyway loved those old Supra's back in the day. Remember when they came out. The Japanese where on a roll back then with loads of great sports cars......They really have not captured the spirit of the old car though with the new one as its like driving a BMW....Well it is a BMW. Not a bad thing but most of the diehard fans are saying it just isn't right. How does it drive these days ?
Wow, that was some serious number of supras that you have owned, you have probably owned 50% of import market! 14 !! You must had bought more than 1 per year during the peak .Just a bit. About 15 Supra (only 1 at present though) - 3 GZ aero, 1 GZ coupe, 3 RZ auto, 3 RZ 6spd, and 4 SZ aeros. So that would be 14 actually. Not tried the A90 yet - not inclined to until I can bring them in as grey imports. That will be a few years off. I'd love to rebuild my collection but just don't have storage space....and until I can sell a 928 or Gransport Spyder - the missus has forbidden me from buying any more.
Andyk nailed it - the Japanese were at their zenith in the 90's to early 2000's (300ZX, RX7, Evo Lancer, WRX, 3000GT, Skyline GTR, Supra, Soarers, 180SX - a veritable cornucopia of playthings) - then quickly went over a cliff.
So you are in OZ? I had 2 when I was there, bought the first one 96 NA back in 1999, and a 1999 TT in 2001, only sold the car when I came over to UK in 2004 - I would imagine the TT I sold is probably worth 3 times of what I sold it for now.That is magnificent. Fantastic. WHo needs pornhub when you have cars like this? Obviously a UK model given glass headlights, bonnet scoop and full leather (generally most TT in Aus are the RZ as you know, not the GZ, so have only rear leather, and front cloth. And the GZ JDM were always black leather seats - I think UK was the only RHD market with full leather in non-black.
She looks great. Did you pick this up from one of the mkIV forum members perchance (I think one of the fellas on there had two TT to sell, including a blue 6 speed).
Mind you - these are not cheap anymore - about 3 times the price of what they were 6 years back (I missed buying a GZ TT aero at $12K in 2013 - would be worth $55K AUD now)

That sounds like a fulfilling few days worth of work ahead of you. Hope that cake turns out well.I’ve been at home now for 10 weeks, I’ve not seen my GS since 2nd March when I dropped it off for some maintenance & unlikely to see it before end of June. So not been able to drive or tinker with it.
I’ve run out of diy jobs so been doing a few open university courses & also offering free of charge help to some small local companies with my skills. I’ve been in the media for 35 years, studied at a couple of management schools and an accountant so plenty of tasks available.
Today I’m writing up a business specification for a small medical research company, The CEO gave my son work experience last year so pleased I can return the favour.
Next week I’m helping another small software company to write up a business plan to acquire some funding from private investors. His wife is Italian & she makes lovely cakes which is small incentive.
Otherwise plenty of F1 reruns to watch.

Yes garage is a huge factor for me, and I have only got one garage living in London, so it has to be reserved for Stradale unfortunately for the supra. I do however clean it every week. I have even removed all interior panels to put some padding on them to mitigate the rattling noise... Things you do when you have too much spare time. I still have to work from home, but have more spare time now that there is no commute to work.
Would love to see you supra (in fact your car collection) when this covid 19 is all over
