Having owned a GT and GTS and then leaving masarati ownership I have decided to return and purchase a Grand Cabrio an early car would suit me 2010 10/60, I was offered a few a few months back but was not ready would prefer to buy from a main dealer what would be a realistic price for one with say 10000 miles. Also is white a safe option silly question but never been brave enough to buy a white car

A big welcome to the forum mbhav.....Sounds like you are hocked on a the GT then.......White seems very popular on the Grancab to be honest and suits it. Good luck with your search....

If you want a good specialist who knows his Maserati then Dicky Grace is your man. Well respected on here and he could probably source the right car for you or just worth giving him a call for a chat and advice.

Welcome.

The Gran Cabrio, now you don't see many so we have to assume they did not sell that well, so this should be reflected in the price.

The sun is out so its an expensive time to buy any convertible but it is well know the main dealers have loads on their books that they are struggling to shift.

If it were me I would go to someone like Dick Lovetts with a clear budget in mind and stick to it. I think you will be amazed what you come away with.

As for white, I love it and if your brave enough, couple it with the red leather interior, superb!

What I have heard is there have been some hood issues both with the mechanism and leaks so get them to pressure wash it with you in it and check for leaks.

Remember there is a new model out now with the face lift (I think its referred to as the Stradale) so this will have a direct effect on the value of the older model and the dealers will be biting your hand off to shift them.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Matt, Stradale is a stand alone model.....you can still get a Grancab Sport and the standard car....Its now a 3 car model range.....Stradale is around 119k...Or the one at Dick Lovett was.

I have been offered a blue 10/10 car with Sabia for £61000 with 13000k on the clock 2 owners, and a white one with Bordeaux one owner 10/60 plate with 8k on the clock for £64000. Are these figures in the right ball park. I nearly purchased audi rs5 but after finding this forum I dont think I could do it as the only car I have ever loved has been my massarati GTS and that after owned several Astons, and 3 911 turbos.

There just seems to be so few Grand Cabs around I can get a cheaper car for around £59000/£60000 from an independent.

My experience with new physical cars at dealers is that they are rarely cheap if you don't want a heavy spec. Once an unregistered car gets around 9/12 months old you might get £15k off but if it's got more than £5k of extras you don't want then it would be cheaper to go for a factory order.

As for a three year old car at c£60k retail it seems about right at this time of year. Might be £50k come October mind! Offer £5k off the sticker and see what happens. Walking away is easy.

Those prices seem about right for main dealers but I'm sure you could get a bit more off when talking face to face.

Am I correct in saying that you have to go for a cabrio sport to get the full GTS sound affect.....?
Cheers Wattie

THINK so but didn't the standard car have the 4.7 so always sounded better than the 4.2 BY

I like the the sound of the standard Grand Cabrio it has some serious roar to it, the prices I mentioned are the prices with haggling and I am pretty used to it being a retailer of high ticket items myself. Its just not so easy buying a cab

Indeed. Even the 4.2 GranTurismo sounds great despite not having the valved exhaust.

The 'basic' GranCab has the 3000 revs plus opening valves in sport like on my Coupe. Sounds great to me and can be run on the motorway in sport without the drone; ie sub 3000 revs.

£59k with years 4 & 5 Trident warranty would be where I would want to be for that car from a dealer.

The exhaust opening at 3k rpm will be software so can easily be changed to the GTS setup. Get them to do it as part of the deal.

As a guide at 3 years old that car will be worth approx 50% of retail when new.

If its non depreciation you are after get a GTS under £50k. With the v6 Turbo coming in it will be the next GranSport and last of the V8's and hold over £40k for the next 5 years....we will see if I am wrong!
