Good shout, she's been around a while now and yet still young - I didn't realise she started out as young as she did. She was a pretty big deal when I was working at MTV in the early 2000's

Someone who has heard of her....brilliant Stu....Yes she is big in the USA....She started around 18/19 and got a record deal on Modonnas label....made two brilliant LP's .... Songs from the spirit room and Hotel paper....She then went Nashvile married a producer and made some country style music with another woman....Had a messy break up with her husband as he wouldn't give the music she wrote but that's over and this is the first record for some years....Its very different to her other records and you can feel what she has been through over the last few years...

Heard of her but her music is too MOR for me. I prefer darker streaks in female vocals like Beth Orton, Natalie Merchant, PJ Harvey and Lana Del Ray.

Yes, I remember the earlier records but since I left the music industry and am a punter & music consumer like everyone else, it's not so easy to come across everything that gets released now.
I used to sit in a weekly meeting watching pretty much every music video released that week, both by record companies and independently, so that we could decide which videos we would be playing on all of the MTV/VH1 channels that week. MB was definitely a contender for VH1 as an artist to look out for but I guess the stuff in her personal life you mentioned put the brakes on her career outside of Europe.

Don't despair though Andy, she's back in the UK in September - get that credit card out and get booking my friend!
