Next to the ashtray on the centre console, my 3200 has a little green LED, which seems to be always lit when the ignition is on. What's it for?

It could be a green light for anything & everything. Never need to ask the missus for permission for anything ever again!

Just ask the Maser.....oh green light....ok great!!

Love these answers!

Seriously though, it's simply to guide you to where the ashtray is in the dark

Heh.

On a more serious note I think it's just so you can find the ashtray isn't it?

With the number of lights normally lit on a 3200 I am not surprised it has took you this long to notice this one ;)

besides, most of the posts recently about lights being on have been for coupes and GTs I have noticed................maybe the 32s have stopped "flirting" with us owners now? lol

With a 10000 hour life perhaps all the dash bulbs are now burnt out?

Just saying.......lol

Well on my 2001 car this light is connected to the alarm system and its green when the alarm is disarmed and its red when the alarm is live (i.e. it will go off). now i am not sure about my car as it has a TOAD alarm linked to the central locking so this is probably not standard. However my green light does some thing more than light up the ash tray which thankfully has never been used in my car, would not have bought it if it had.

It merely gives 3200 owners something to ponder whilst waiting for the AA. ;)
