Hello there, any alternative to wheel bearings, OEM nr 387200373 ? Cost on Eurospares is 447 € ; they have used ones but I don't know if it would be a good idea to buy some... Thanks !

I seem to remember someone found you could press the bearing out of the housing on the 3200. You could try disassembling it and getting the numbers off of the bearing to save some money.

The time and effort to press out the bearings and replace them with new pattern/SKF parts is not worth it in my opinion.

A 4200 bearing replacement (I assume the 3200 is similiar) only took me an hour to do (time includes spraying WD40 and having a brew whilst it soaked in) . I seem to remember that only 16 bolts were required to be removed and then replaced, including 5 to remove the wheel.

If you have the specialist equipment then fair enough but I wouldn't bother otherwise.

It’s not a 4200. They appear to press out.

I thought there was modification involved to get the 4200 bearing removed, which rendered the unit unviable on reassembly..
Yes, i know its a 3200 but the OP has his answer- and Im just catching up on this. I had long since arrived at the "collective" conclusion that the 4200 unit wasnt doable...drawings and everything !!

Its worth considering that often the bearing carrier is quite corroded and replacing the whole thing is not a bad idea. Worth inspecting the existing carrier and asses if its in good enough condition to keep? I have replaced two of mine and both carriers were quite corroded, although we do have road salt in the winter here.

I see.. I misunderstood this comment. It read like pressing the bearings out..but its just replacing the unit to the carrier..my bad. I thought someone had found a solution to the crummy sensors that fail all too often...
As you were..
