Which tyre brand should I choose for my 20" multi trident rims for my QP Sport GT S

Hi

I recently purchased some 20" multi trident rims for my Quattroporte Sport GT S 2009MY.

Which tyre brand does everyone have experience with and recommend.

I initially was going to get Pirelli P Zero's but have read some posts that slate them for various reasons i.e. Road noise, lack of traction and longevity issues that has left me a little confused as to whether Pirelli are the right choice for me.

Also if there are any QP Sport GT S owners like me out there that can tell me what size tyres you have on your 20" multi tridents ( front and rear ) it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Not sure about whether the sizes are the same as for the GranTurismo GTS on 20" but I got sick of poor longevity with the P Zero and contacted Maserati. They now approve the Continental Sport Contact 3 which I recently fitted. Early days but ok so far.

Thanks for your insight.
Is tyre roar and traction improved in your opinion with your Continental's in comparison to your Pirelli's ?

I think so but's it's always hard to tell going from tired old tyres to new tyres. Also I took off my winter Pirellis' to go to the SC3s so that makes the comparison harder as I had not had P Zeros on for a few months.

Sorry, completely forgot! Fronts are 245/35/ZR20. Rears are 295/30/ZR20's. Couldn't really comment on longevity and comparisons as I don't own the cars long enough and haven't ever driven one with anything other than PZero's on it.

Thanks my friend.

Do you know what number comes before the Y at the end of the tyre size info.

Does anybody know what exactly this number before the Y means.

I believe it's something to do with load capacity and top speed but welcome any comments.

Thanks again.

Y is speed rating 185mph if I recall correctly. Not sure about the numbers before but on the car I have , 95Y fronts, 101Y rears.

The numbers before the speed rating letter, are the load rating of the tyre.
Thanks.

I finally understand.

Do you think I should ask maserati what exactly the recommended tyre size and load rating is because I have noticed different sizes and rating on various QP Sport GT S's.

Thanks

Yes ask Maserati, just to see what they say
I use 19inch (QP) Pzero 98Y on the front and 99Y on the rear, simply because they were on it when i bought it
a year ago
Look fine now and no problems with noise etc..................

Good timing with this, will need new rear tyres soon so might try the Contis.

How many miles are people getting from a set of rears?

I think that P Zeros' are the only choice here to get matching front and back axles as the rears are wider and lower than the 20" on the GT/GC (fronts the same).

that is about what I expected, maybe up to 10k.
used to get never more than 6k out of rears on 1984 911 carrera 3.2, and that only had 231 BHP when new ;)

Only one tyre I buy now, Goodyear Eagle F1 AC2's

Best tyre on the market, never been a fan of PZeros.
