After a rock and my windscreen decided to have a relationship at Bruntingthorpe I have been told by my insurers to get the screen replaced by any repairer I want.

Has anyone used anyone before and had a good experience?

I had a windscreen replaced in my GTS and was told that firstly all the interior trim was removed from around windscreen and that the screen needed to be installed and left for 24 hours for bond to cure. Then all trim re installed at a total cost of c£3000. This work was undertaken by JCT 600 Leeds. Trust this is of some assistance.

I have always found Autoglass to be pretty good, but this might be a dealer option just in case you get issues down the road, then they can sort it out under warranty of the work they did.

Loz had a big problem with Autoglass when his GS windscreen needed replacing. They ended up allowing him to take the car to HR Owen to have it done properly.

If it is only costing you the excess, I would go to a main dealer and let them do it.

Autoglass........ I know my scooby's were old but when I had to have a screen replaced they scratched the f*** out of my A pillars and bonnet, complete carnage, why? Couldn't be bothered to kick off, bigger fish to fry so would go MD on this.

Autoglass were fine on one of my other cars. They wanted the car there all day though to ensure everything was 100% before handing it back. They also give a lifetime guarantee. I guess it comes down to which branch you use.

Some main dealers do use a third party which isn't always good.

Try Glassman on Pistonheads, he's comes highly recommended.
