Just tried that thanks but still not enough movement of the arm. I am pressing the latches (red) but you will see that the hook in yellow is firmly behind the arm and therefore the hook will only lift a few mm. There must be a really obvious solution but my brain can’t work it out!You might find it easier if you get the wipers stuck mid way. By turning the ignition off....

Agreed - I know I’m useless at any car stuff but this has really foxed me. I have tried pressing red clips and lifting both black clips on top - to no avail. So annoying, as the passenger one literally took 30 seconds! Just been out again and tried but now small bits of plastic are beginning to break!
Oh, ok, so I see what is supposed to happen now. In theory you pinch at the red circle (on both sides) and swing the curved bit to the left, all the way over. Then the U hook goes to the right.

Very poor quality video here:

Cheers, mark and yes your theory seems spot on.Oh, ok, so I see what is supposed to happen now. In theory you pinch at the red circle (on both sides) and swing the curved bit to the left, all the way over. Then the U hook goes to the right.

That vid confirms I am doing it correctly but the hook just will not lift up. You’re right, I could just break up all the plastic but I am not quite at the defeat stage yet!But apparently it's not an 'icon' but an 'aerotwin'.
Slightly less bad, but rather eccentric video here:
Still couldn’t actually see a solution, so I think I’m at the point of breaking off the plastic bits and fitting the Denso. Crazy!Well at least you are not uniquely incompetent - it seems to be a very general and well-known problem:
Hello @Kiwibrit. You have all my sympathy.Cheers, mark and yes your theory seems spot on.
I actually checked that vid earlier but the reality is different on GC.
Because of the ‘double’ wiper arm system, the curved bit will not lift (it gets stuck behind the arm hidden under my yellow squiggle) and therefore nothing happens, although it will move a few mm in the opposite direction of your yellow arrow. It’s crazy, I’m nearly at the crowbar stage!! How did they even put it on?
Thanks for confirming @Alan Surrey, I shall break it tomorrow. I’m still dumbfounded at how the clip can be underneath, though!Hello @Kiwibrit. You have all my sympathy.
A fellow sufferer, I tried to remove mine earlier this year. Ended up breaking it. They clearly built the car around it. Substantial levels of frustration. All I wanted to do was get the wiper blade off so that I could repaint the wiper arm. While I did that (actually rather nicely - pleased with the result.) It cost me, entirely gratuitously a new wiper blade.
Grumble grumble.
Hi - thanks for these pictures. I have stupidly broken the black OEM adapter on mine (the bit that slides over the mount in the picture above). Can anyone tell me where I can find a replacement?Slide in the new blade and push away from you, takes a little bit of force but not much at all so if it’s not going then stop. No modifications needed at all it’s really a perfect fit.

Now snap closed the latch, closes with ease.

And finally slide back in the little trim, just lifting it slight at the top so the lugs on it engage into the two holes and job jobbed.
