Chris Basset just had one fitted on his, David. Sounded tremedous. He may have some thoughts. I have an X-pipe on my GTS which really opens things up. Love it. BennyD reigns supreme over the art of making these cars sound like nature intended, but for what it's worth I'd say an x-pipe is a good start point. The forum has I *think* been making up its own spec pipes so send a private message to Conaero and / or BennyD for more details or just for an opinion.

Good luck!

I put a Larini X pipe only on my GS Spyder a few months ago.

Definitely made a difference - a bit more fruity under acceleration so really happy.

I had Larini back boxes in the past on my 4200 and the drone was too much for me.

Very happy with what I have now. Thing is, if x pipe isn't enough you can always add to it.

Lots of threads on this subject on the forum.

Good luck.

Dave putting the drone to one side, how does the x-pipe-only sound different to the Larini rears? Quieter, similar, richer, louder, deeper?

OK that's food for thought - thinking i could get an x-pipe and run car with 1) x-pipe and OEM rears for a bit then for a change 2) run standard resonator with larini rears, just to make life more interesting... ;-)

Or perhaps like Benny run x-pipe with larini rears.. :alan4::alan4:

yup.........and like benny you can then be heard the south side of loch ness when you roar past on the north!:saifi3:

I've just looked up Loch Ness width - at it's widest part it is 1.7 miles across...Benny's motor can't be that much quieter than a Eurofighter..... :firing10:

anyone got one for sale?

If you mean the x-pipe, I just had one fitted, bought it from Matt (conaero) for £200 - he worked with BennyD to source it. Looks like quality welding & materials. If you have access to the skills, facilities and free time we could try swapping it onto your car for a test...but I don't know where you're based. That could also add to the database of videos of different exhaust setups.

If you can get down to Romford you can have a sound off with mine; it is stock with just a straight through X pipe.
