X PIPE & LOWERING SPRINGS

I am in the process of buying a GranTurismo Sport MC Shift.
My first mod will be to fit an X Pipe to it. What is everyone's preferred approach? Does anyone know anywhere in London which will fit/fabricate one?
I also want to lower the car (the rear end in particular) - I can only see the H&R springs as an option? Has anyone used anything else?

Speak to Marios at Autoshield for and X pipe.
I wouldn’t bother with lowering. It’s low enough as it is. Just get some spacers, they make the alloys full the arches. Or at least look like they do.

Lowering the car is asking for trouble, they are one of the lowest cars on the road and dropping them any more will result in grounding out on every speed bump.

Careful lowering it. If it has Skyhook, you need to make sure you get the right ones and it will make the ride very hard in sport mode. As Britain's not Stongest Man says, spacers first as it doesn't really need lowered.

The wisdom of the forum is bang on. I can only imagine that you'd regret lowering it. They're scrapey as h3ll already! One of our number, Beau, has slammed his GTS, but I can only assume he doesn't drive it very much.

Beau has planks of wood in the boot so he can drive off speed bumps he is moored on . I think that's all anyone needs to know.

Mine are from Formula Dynamics which Mr Crud brought back from Vegas.
I think you can get them from a Larini stockist over here.

I'm sure someone else will be along shortly to tell you where else they can be got from.

Thanks all. Where is the best place to get good value spacers?

My spacers are from Hills Engineering and are really nice bits of work. Can't remember how much they were though - probably cheaper than FD and importing though.

Perhaps waze need to add an "avoid speed bumps" mode to the app

That must be funny watching him pull planks out of the boot

Thanks - that's very useful!
Noticed you installed an X Pipe too - did it add much drone when cruising and around town?

I have zero drone from my Autoshield X. Don't know if the double glazing helps or it just doesn't drone!

What Gaz said. I got mine from Autoshield as well and it isn't at all droney. It's actually better at cruise than when I had it on my 4.2 GT. The noise in Sport is epic though and laugh out loud daft well worth the investment. Much raspier and great woofle when you come off the power.

This is me leaving a car show recently (@11.46).

Thanks for the replies. I’m going to go with the X pipe mod and some spacers.

Instead of starting another thread I’ll ask here... what brand tyres do people run on these? I’m looking at some Pirelli PZeros?

Nooooooo. Anything but P Zeros! They're great on dry warm smooth roads, but anything else they're rubbish at best.

I've just put Michelin Pilot Supersports all round on mine and the difference is a revelation. So much better!
